Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Flights from the East Coast to India are long; we’re talking upwards of 15 hours long. And to add insult to injury, they’re usually pretty expensive.

That’s why we rushed to tell you about this fare sale, which features economy class flights starting at just $558 round-trip. Yes, round-trip.

Let’s go over the details.

Fare Deal — Details

This fare sale comes courtesy of SkyTeam and Star Alliance, with discounted flights operated by Delta, Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and Air India.

If you’re not already an East Coast local, you’ll need to position yourself for this fare deal, so factor in the cost of an additional flight.

  • Class: Economy
  • Routes: New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS) to Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR) or Mumbai (BOM)
  • Dates: April 2025 to March 2026
  • Rates: As low as $558

You’ll find the lowest rates on the nonstop Air India flight from New York (JFK) to Mumbai (BOM), costing $558 round-trip.

However, reports often show that Air India isn’t a great airline to fly. Plus, you’ll end up spending 15 hours on a direct flight, which can be miserable in economy.

Instead, consider paying a few bucks more and flying on Virgin Atlantic. Although it’s a couple more hours in length, you’ll get the chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the amenity kits Virgin passes out to economy class passengers, plus enjoy a chance to stretch your legs during a layover.

The fare calendar is wide open for deals to Mumbai (BOM), New Delhi (DEL), and Bengaluru (BLR), which means it’s a good idea to scroll through dates to see if yours are on sale.

Best Ways To Book

Searching for these flights brings up a number of ways to book, including options via online travel agencies (OTA) or directly with these airlines. It can be a few dollars cheaper to go with an OTA, but you’ll want to be careful about doing so. These websites can be frustrating to deal with if you need to make changes or cancellations.

You can play around with routes and dates in Google Flights to help you find the best options.

If you decide to book with an OTA, rely on a card such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which will earn you 3x Ultimate Rewards points on all travel purchases.

If booking directly with the airline, The Platinum Card® from American Express will earn 5x Membership Rewards points on flights purchased directly with the airline or through AmexTravel.com (up to $500,000 of these purchases per year, then 1x).

Final Thoughts

It’s not often that we see good fares on flights to India. With a broad range of dates available and a few different airports from which to choose, now is as good a time as any to book this fare deal.

We don’t expect these prices to last long, so if you’re looking to book, jump on it now! These fares are nearly $500 cheaper than average flights on these routes.
