IHG is expanding its Hotel Indigo brand in Thailand with the signing of a new hotel scheduled to open in 2026.

Here’s what you need to know.

Signing Part of IHG’s Hotel Indigo Expansion

Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor is scheduled to open in 2026, but it’s unclear exactly when.

The hotel will have 250 guest rooms, 2 restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, a gym, meeting rooms, and co-working spaces.

Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor will be a short drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and steps from the Thonglor BTS Skytrain station.

“Luxury & Lifestyle brands have always been important for consumers in Thailand,” said Saowarin Chanprakaisi, Senior Director of South East Asia and Korea Development at IHG.

“The Hotel Indigo brand has been expanding rapidly and is now strongly established in the region and globally. There are bold plans to expand its global footprint to more than 200 open hotels in the next three years as we introduce it to more guests around the world,” Chanprakaisi continued.

This comes amid IHG’s push of the Hotel Indigo brand into the Southeast Asia market. Currently, there are 4 Hotel Indigo properties open there, with another 11 in the pipeline. Hotel Indigo has nearly 150 hotels open globally and 127 in the pipeline.

Hotel Indigo is one of IHG’s most recognizable brands. It is part of the Luxury & Lifestyle collection, which includes InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, and Six Senses Hotels & Resorts.

Booking IHG Hotels in Thailand

Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor isn’t scheduled to open until 2026.

In the meantime, you have several options for booking IHG One Rewards hotels in Thailand. These include some high-end hotels like the newly-reopened InterContinental Hotels Bangkok (starting at 39,000 points per night) and Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong (starting at 15,000 points per night).

IHG One Rewards points are relatively easy to earn compared to other hotels.

The chain offers 3 co-branded IHG credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business credit card — which are issued by Chase. Additionally, if you have Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points, these can be transferred to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Hot Tip:

Other ways to earn IHG One Rewards points include enrolling in the IHG Dining program, using IHG Business Rewards and earning points for hosting qualifying events, or purchasing points.

Final Thoughts

While we don’t know many details about the Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor, this news is still great for IHG loyalists who will have another high-end points option in Bangkok in the coming years. While we wait for this hotel to open, make sure to check out IHG’s other luxury points hotels across Thailand!
