If you’re a frequent JetBlue flyer who has been mulling over the JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard® and whether you should add it to your wallet, now could be the perfect time, thanks to its new welcome bonus offer.

Here is a full look at the details of this latest offer that comes with 80,000 bonus points and tiles to help you reach elite status.

JetBlue Premier Card Welcome Bonus

For a limited time, you can earn 80,000 bonus points plus 5 TrueBlue Mosaic Tiles after spending $5,000 on purchases and paying the $499 annual fee in full — both within the first 90 days.

We value JetBlue TrueBlue points at 1.3 cents per point. Given that the program uses a fixed-value rewards currency, you can expect to receive roughly $1,040 in value from this 80,000-point welcome bonus offer toward future travel with JetBlue.

Further, the 5 Tiles you’ll earn give you a nice boost toward qualifying for JetBlue Mosaic status, which requires 50 Tiles to reach the lowest tier, Mosaic 1. Moreover, since you earn 1 Tile for every $1,000 spent on the card, after meeting the minimum spend requirement and receiving the welcome bonus, you’ll have a total of 10 Tiles (5 from spending and 5 from the bonus offer). That puts you 20% of the way to JetBlue TrueBlue Mosaic 1 status.

JetBlue Premier Card Benefits

Since the JetBlue Premier card charges a large annual fee of $499, it is important to consider all of the card benefits — not just the welcome bonus offer — when deciding if it the card makes sense for you. Here are the perks you can expect:

  • 6x points on JetBlue and Paisly purchases
  • 2x points on restaurants and eligible grocery stores
  • Group A boarding on JetBlue flights
  • Free first checked bag for you and up to 3 eligible travel companions
  • Priority Pass and JetBlue airport lounge access
  • Up to $300 in statement credits on Paisly purchases per calendar year (with a $50 credit for each qualifying transaction of $250 or more)
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit
  • 1 JetBlue Mosaic Tile for every $1,000 spent on the card
  • 50% savings on eligible inflight purchases
  • 5,000 bonus points each year after your JetBlue Premier Card account anniversary
  • 10% of your points back after you redeem for and travel on a JetBlue-operated award flight

If you’re a frequent JetBlue flyer, there are some solid benefits here that can deliver real value on each of your JetBlue flights, including free checked bags, priority boarding, a 50% savings on inflight purchases, and 10% of your redeemed points credited back to you.

That said, while the card offers Priority Pass and JetBlue lounge access as benefits, it is worth pointing out that, as of writing, no JetBlue lounges have opened yet. However, the first JetBlue lounge will open before the end of the year at New York’s JFK airport.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a dedicated JetBlue flyer who lives near one of its main hubs, adding the JetBlue Premier card to your wallet could be a good move. That’s even truer with an increased welcome bonus offer of 80,000 points and 5 Tiles.

If you’re eyeing this card, be sure to run the numbers against your travel habits to decide if the card makes sense for you, given its annual fee.
