You Can Now Access TSA PreCheck Touchless ID Through Google Wallet

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced a partnership with Google Wallet, allowing eligible travelers to opt in to and use TSA PreCheck Touchless ID directly through the app.

This move will streamline airport security screenings and reduce the need for physical identification documents, ultimately reducing wait times.

What Is TSA PreCheck Touchless ID?

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID now integrates directly into Google Wallet, allowing eligible travelers to verify their identity without presenting a physical ID or boarding pass at participating airports.

TSA PreCheck Touchless ID streamlines airport security by using facial comparison technology to quickly and securely verify travelers’ identities. It’s available to travelers with a valid passport.

The integration addresses one of the biggest limitations of the existing Touchless ID program. Previously, travelers often had to manually upload passport information for individual airlines and were limited to a small group of participating carriers, including American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines.

With the Google Wallet integration, eligible travelers flying on more than 100 TSA PreCheck-participating airlines can access the service through a single digital platform.

This is part of a major expansion for Touchless ID lately, now available in many more locations.

How To Use TSA Precheck on Google Wallet

Travelers flying with a participating airline can add their boarding pass to Google Wallet during check-in. Eligible users with a qualifying digital ID will see a “Get started” option in the app to enroll in TSA PreCheck Touchless ID.

After providing consent to share their digital ID and boarding pass information with TSA, travelers receive a confirmation and success code in Google Wallet. A Touchless ID indicator will then be added to the boarding pass.

Where Is TSA Precheck Touchless ID Available?

According to the TSA, the TSA PreCheck Touchless ID program is currently available at 65 airports across the country.

With the Google Wallet integration, eligible passengers traveling on any of the more than 100 TSA PreCheck-participating airlines can use the service at participating airports.
