With gas prices averaging nearly $5 in the U.S.,¹ more people are considering electric vehicles.
One private jet company has partnered with Hertz to offer members access to electric cars and elite status.
Here’s what you need to know!
Hertz Elite Status and Access to Electric Vehicles for Wheels Up Members
Wheels Up is a membership-based company that provides on-demand private jet services.
The company announced today that it would partner with the car rental company Hertz to give its members access to electric vehicles.
According to Wheels Up, members now have access to high-end rentals from Hertz, including Tesla and Polestar vehicles. Electric vehicles can be rented from more than 100 private airports with plans to expand to more than 500 “in the coming months.”
Wheels Up members will also receive discounts for Hertz Prestige and Dream Car Collection and have access to a dedicated Hertz Private Aviation Specialist at the Wheels Up call center.
Additionally, Wheels Up members will also receive membership to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards‘ highest elite status, President’s Circle. This status is typically obtained by completing 15 rentals or $3,000 in spending.
President’s Circle members receive the following benefits:
Confirmed 1-car-class upgrades at participating locations
50% bonus on Gold Plus Rewards points on all qualified rentals
Expedited vehicle pick-up at over 1,000 locations worldwide
No stopping at the counter at over 50 airports
The freedom to choose any vehicle in the President’s Circle lot at no extra charge
No additional driver fee for a spouse or domestic partner in the U.S.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points for free rental days around the world
Hertz Valet service at participating locations up to 4 times a year
Dedicated President’s Circle call center line
“We’re thrilled to offer Wheels Up members a premium level of service to elevate their travel experience with our Hertz Gold Plus Rewards elite President’s Circle status and a variety of luxury vehicles, including our newest EV models and other exclusive benefits,” said Laura Smith, Hertz executive vice president of sales said in a statement.
Assuming you’re a Wheels Up member – the program has a $17,500 initiation fee and $8,500 yearly dues starting the second year – you’ll gain access to Hertz’s most elusive status tier. If that seems out of reach, there are other ways to get Hertz status.
If you happen to be a Wheels Up member and can afford the fee, you’ll be happy to know that you’ll now get a top-tier Hertz President’s Circle membership. It’s clear that Wheels Up is expanding its reach for members not just in the air with its private jet services but also the experience guests receive on the ground.
