Global hotel chain Wyndham has launched Wyndham Rewards Insider — a new subscription to complement its loyalty program Wyndham Rewards.

Wyndham hopes Rewards Insider will be a hit with its already loyal members as well as incentivize new customers to try its hotels.

“People today want more than just points — they want breadth, flexibility and value they can feel across every aspect of their journey,” said Scott Strickland, chief commercial officer at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

Let’s take a closer look at what you’ll get as a Wyndham Rewards Insider and whether it’s worth the price tag for you.

Wyndam Rewards Insider: The Details

Wyndham is introducing Rewards Insider with an annual fee of $95.

For that very reasonable sum, Rewards Insider members benefit from automatic Wyndham Rewards Gold elite status, at least a 10% discount on standard rates on qualifying Wyndham hotel stays, and a 50% points accelerator on earnings from your hotel stays. That’s quite a lot of value for $95.

The 50% accelerator improves your earning rates by 50%, bumping Gold members from their normal 10% extra to a 15% bonus on their points earnings. The same applies to the improved earning rates for Platinum (increased from 15% to 23%) and Diamond (from 20% up to 30%).

Enrollment is available at WyndhamRewardsInsider.com.

Wyndham has also teamed up with some of your favorite brands to offer further discounts on travel.

For example, partnerships with brands like American Airlines, Avis, Carnival Cruise Line, JetBlue, and United Airlines mean members can enjoy the following discounts when booking through the Insider platform:

  • Up to 5% on domestic flights
  • Up to 15% on international flights
  • Up to 30% on cruises
  • 10% or more on car hire
  • Up to 15% on tours and activities
  • Up to 15% on car transfers and limo services

Additionally, Wyndham Rewards Insider has partnered with Ticketmaster, Universal, and Walt Disney World to offer even more exclusive offers.

Members will earn points for every dollar spent on the platform. Hotel stays, tours, and activities earn 10 Wyndham Rewards points per $1 spent, and Ticketmaster purchases earn 2 points per $1 spent (up to 50,000 points annually). All other spend earns 1 points per 1$ spent.

To celebrate the program’s launch, Wyndham is offering 2 extra months of membership to those who sign up before the end of the year. On top of the extra time as a member, they’ll enjoy a bonus of 7,500 points.

Hot Tip:

While Wyndham Rewards might be a lesser-known loyalty program, it packs some valuable benefits, such as preferred rooms and late checkouts after staying just 5 nights and earning Gold Status.

Final Thoughts

As travel brands strive to come up with new ways to make passive income, it’s not surprising to see Wyndham jumping on the subscription bandwagon. The fee is very reasonable and is certainly worth paying if you stay at Wyndham properties on a regular basis. And if you can use the discounts enough to save more than $95 annually, then it will definitely make sense for you.

If you won’t use the perks, though, signing up won’t make sense, so be sure to check your travel plans and travel style to see how well Wyndham Rewards Insider aligns with you.
