When you are holding the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card, you’ll earn up to 25 points per dollar at IHG properties worldwide, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts!
This is an incredible earning multiplier when you consider the fact they’re worth 0.5 cents per point, according to our points and miles valuations. That means you’re earning at least 12.5% back on your spending.
As you will find out in this guide, you can get a value upwards of 2 cents per point, which means that an accrual structure of 25 points per dollar could get you a whopping 50% return on spend!
It gets better than that because you’ll get a ton of other benefits just by holding the IHG Premier card, including earning an annual reward hotel night up to 40,000 points just by having this card.
With Gold Elite status, you will get a 10% bonus of points on stays, as well as priority check-in, and a welcome amenity. Also, your points will never expire.
With higher-tier Platinum status, you have the ability to get room upgrades (excluding suites and specialty rooms), and your 10% bonus increases to a 50% bonus of points on stays.

The 22 Best InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Redemptions
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts vary wildly in price. Many properties charge less than $100 per night, while some properties can be as expensive as $1,000 or more per night!
As you can imagine, our best redemptions will be focused on getting the most value for your points. In many cases, you’ll want to save up your points for redemptions at ultra-luxe properties, but there are also some “hidden gem” redemptions you can make to get outsized value with your points.
As a reminder, IHG Rewards Club uses variable award pricing, which means that the price you’ll be charged for a standard room will depend on several factors including the cash rate, the date range, seasonality, and availability.
The redemption rates we’ll be outlining at each property, therefore, are not prescriptive, but rather they’re directionally correct. Play around with your stay dates to see how the prices fluctuate at each hotel!
1. InterContinental – ANA Beppu Resort & Spa (Japan)
Our favorite InterContinental property to redeem points at for top-notch value is probably one you didn’t expect. In fact, you might not have even known that this property existed!
This terrific resort is located in Japan‘s Oita prefecture on a hilltop with views of Japan’s Ogiyama mountains and is less than 4 miles from the nearest train station. The rural oasis hotel is just 5 miles from Beppu Bay’s Matogahama Beach, as well.
The property is renowned for being a fusion of Western luxury and Japan’s hot spring onsen heritage.
Known as being a lavish oasis of Japanese baths and wellness indulgence, this opulent hotel has posh rooms each with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, Bose audio system, minibar, and majestic views.
Floor-to-ceiling windows bring an abundance of light to each room, and you’ll find a well-appointed bathroom with a walk-in shower, a separate bathtub, Agraria bathroom amenities, Japanese yukatas, and an amenity bag for the onsen.
InterContinental – ANA Beppu Resort & Spa has an all-day restaurant, a fine dining restaurant, and a bar on the premises, plus a scenic terrace, a full gym, an infinity pool, a public onsen with therapeutic hot spring water and bay views, a business center, meeting/event space, as well as a Club InterContinental Lounge.
This property is incredibly expensive if you booked using cash. You’d have to shell out a whopping $1,000 per night on average! Luckily, you can redeem around 60,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night for a standard room here, which nets you an amazing 1.7 cents per point, more than triple the standard valuation of 0.5 cents per point.
2. InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa (French Polynesia)
One of the most famous InterContinental properties in the entire world is the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, which is known to be incredibly pricey.
Of the 3 properties in French Polynesia that IHG manages, this one is the most luxe. This property occupies an incredible islet location overlooking Mont Otemanu!
Even the standard room is an overwater villa, which means your points redemption will also be an overwater villa! Each of these overwater villas is at least 1,022-square-feet large, and this includes a 323-square-foot private terrace with views of the beach and the motu.
The villas house contemporary décor with touches of traditional Polynesian design. Starting with the plush king bed facing a large window overlooking the lagoon and beach, each villa has a ton of amenities.
There’s a separate living room, as well as a luxurious, oversized bathroom with a separate shower and tub, twin vanities, and more. Plus, the bathtubs face a picture window so you can enjoy views while soaking in the tub.
