Wyndham might not be the first brand you think of when considering a hotel, but it shouldn’t be overlooked. While you may be more familiar with Wyndham’s budget and midscale brands like Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, and Travelodge, there are plenty of Wyndham luxury hotels that offer top-notch amenities and first-class accommodations.

Just as with the more well-known hotels like Hyatt or Marriott, Wyndham has its own rewards program — Wyndham Rewards. After you earn enough Wyndham Rewards points you can redeem them for hotel stays.

In this post, we’ll look at some of the best points redemptions for luxury Wyndham hotels so you can get the most value out of every single point.

Here’s a quick look at the parameters we used to put this list together:

  • Wyndham Rewards points are worth ~0.9 cents each. This list includes luxury locations where the points value exceeds this average.
  • The most popular travel dates for each location were determined using Google Travel.
  • The cash rates were based on the cost of a weekend night during the peak travel season.
  • The cents per point value was determined using the average cash and points cost of a room over a 2-month period.

Of course, the cost of a hotel room can vary throughout the year, so these numbers are just an example of what you could expect when traveling during a peak season for your destination.

Let’s dive in to see which luxury Wyndham hotels offer the best value when booking with points!

Wyndham Rewards

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts consists of 23 brands at over 9,000 locations in more than 80 countries around the world:

  • AmericInn
  • Baymont by Wyndham
  • Club Wyndham
  • Days Inn
  • Dazzler
  • Dolce Hotels and Resorts
  • Esplendor
  • Hawthorn Suites
  • Howard Johnson
  • La Quinta
  • Margaritaville Vacations Club
  • Microtel
  • Ramada
  • Shell Vacations Club
  • Super 8
  • Trademark Collection
  • Travelodge
  • TRYP
  • Wingate by Wyndham
  • Worldmark by Wyndham
  • Wyndham
  • Wyndham Garden
  • Wyndham Grand

For the purposes of this post, we’re considering Wyndham luxury hotels to include the following brands:

  • Club Wyndham
  • Dazzler
  • Dolce Hotels and Resorts
  • Esplendor
  • Trademark Collection by Wyndham
  • TRYP by Wyndham
  • Wyndham
  • Wyndham Grand

Wyndham Rewards is the loyalty brand for Wyndham Hotels. You can earn Wyndham points by staying at a Wyndham hotel, using a Wyndham-branded credit card, or transferring miles over from Capital One or Citi.

You can then use your Wyndham Rewards points for hotel stays, including at Caesars Entertainment partner hotels like Caesars, Harrah’s, and Bally’s.

One of the great things about the Wyndham Rewards program is that the award chart is simple — every hotel falls into 1 of 3 tiers:

  • 7,500 points per night (~$68 value)
  • 15,000 points per night (~$135 value)
  • 30,000 points per night (~$270 value)

When you go to book a hotel, you’ll be able to see the price in dollars as well as points or you can search Wyndham’s full list of hotels by points cost. You can also book Wyndham hotel rooms using points and cash (Go Fast awards), but for this article, we are just looking at the points-only rates (Go Free awards).

Using Points for Wyndham Luxury Hotels

For Wyndham luxury hotels, you’ll find options in the top 2 tiers only — either 15,000 points per night or 30,000 points per night.

We value Wyndham Rewards points at ~0.9 cents each, so you can do some easy math to determine when you’re getting a good value using points.

  • If your room costs 7,500 points, you’ll be getting a good value if the cash cost is over $68 per night
  • If your room costs 15,000 points, you’ll be getting a good value if the cash cost is over $135 per night
  • If your room costs 30,000 points, you’ll be getting a good value if the cash cost is over $270 per night

Bottom Line: When booking a Wyndham hotel with points, you’ll see that each hotel falls into 1 of 3 categories costing either 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night. Luxury Wyndham hotels will fall in the top 2 tiers only, costing 15,000 or 30,000 points per night.
