How Does the $300 StubHub Credit Work?

Before we get into the nuts and bolts of using the StubHub credit, let’s go over what StubHub is.

StubHub is a marketplace for fans to buy and sell tickets. The platform is governed by its FanProtect guarantee, which states that fans will get their tickets in time for the event and that their order guarantees a ticket valid for entry into the event. Additionally, if there is an issue with your order, StubHub provides “comparable or better tickets” or a refund. Finally, if your event is canceled and not rescheduled, you receive 120% credit or the option of a full refund.

With the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you receive up to $150 in statement credits from January through June and up to $150 in statement credits from July through December on StubHub and viagogo purchases. You need to activate this benefit before you can use it. No minimum purchase is required.

Cardmembers who applied after June 23, 2025, will receive the benefits immediately. Cardmembers who applied before June 23, 2025, will receive the benefit starting October 26, 2025.

Hot Tip:

The credit can only be used to purchase event tickets from stubhub.com, not international sites like stubhub.co.uk.

Is the $300 StubHub Credit Worth It?

Using the $300 StubHub credit can help to offset the Chase Sapphire Reserve card’s $795 annual fee. This is especially true if you love attending concerts or other live events.

Here are the various events for which you can use your credit:

Sports

StubHub offers tickets for virtually every sport and sporting event, including boxing, college sports, cricket, Formula 1, golf, horse racing, MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, rodeo, rugby, tennis, volleyball, and WNBA.

A family of 5 could use a $150 credit for 5 tickets to see the New York Yankees at the Houston Astros in Houston for $150 total, including fees.

Concerts, Theaters, and Festivals

StubHub also offers tickets to concerts, theaters (including Broadway and opera!), and festivals.

You can get great bang for your buck using your credit on concerts or festivals because many are scheduled in the summer. For example, you could use half of your annual credit ($150) before July 1 for 1 show and the other half for another show after July 1.

For example, a ticket to see Billie Eilish in Tulsa, Oklahoma, would cost $155, including all fees.

There are also great opportunities to use your annual credit on events like Broadway shows. In the screenshot below, a ticket to see “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in New York City costs just under $100 — which would give you leftover credits to use for another event.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers a wide range of valuable benefits, including travel and lifestyle perks. One of these benefits is an annual $300 StubHub credit, which is divided into 2 $150 statement credits that can be used from January through June and from July through December.

From sports events and concerts to shows and festivals, the $300 StubHub credit is easy to use — even if you don’t attend many live events.
