There’s some big news from American Airlines deserving of a toast. The airline announced that it would serve Champagne Bollinger at select Flagship Lounges across the U.S. and on Flagship Business and First flights.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in!

American’s Big Updates to Flagship First and Business

American Airlines will partner with a major Champagne house for the first time and will soon serve Bollinger’s flagship Special Cuvée on flights and in select Flagship Lounges.

Special Cuvée, which retails for about $75 per bottle, is composed of 3 main Champagne varieties: 60% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay, and 15% meunier.

Next month, American will roll out the Champagne on Flagship First and Flagship Business on all flights to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), with plans to expand across its international network later.

Additionally, American now serves the product at Flagship Lounges in Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Miami International Airport (MIA). It will be available “in the coming weeks” at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

It won’t only be available at American’s most premium lounges, however. Guests visiting Admirals Club locations will be able to purchase a glass.

This is just the latest update to American’s Flagship products.

There have been several updates to its hard product in recent months. The airline recently introduced Flagship Suites, which feature sliding doors, more personal storage space, wireless charging, and more.

Last week, American also rolled out a limited-edition amenity kit from Raven + Lily, offering 3 different options for Flagship Business, Flagship Suite, and premium economy.

Plus, American recently introduced the ability for select AAdvantage elites to redeem miles for Flagship First Dining at DFW and MIA.

Latest Airline To Offer High-End Champagne on Flights

Part of the business and first class experience is a good pre-departure beverage, which often includes Champagne. American isn’t the only airline to enhance this experience.

United Airlines introduced Champagne Laurent-Perrier on Polaris flights, while Delta Air Lines rolled out Champagne Taittinger in the Delta One cabin on international flights.

Bottom Line:

International airlines have long been known for a high-end Champagne experience. For instance, Singapore Airlines serves Cristal 2015 (which costs $300 per bottle ) for Suites and first class passengers, while Emirates serves a $650 Dom Pérignon Vintage on first class flights.

Final Thoughts

American Airlines is enhancing its premium product by introducing Champagne Bollinger on the ground and in the sky. This is excellent news for Champagne lovers flying in American’s premium cabins.
