The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card is Marriott’s most premium — and for good reason. With benefits such as automatic elite status, annual dining credits, and an annual free night certificate worth up to 85,000 points, there’s a lot to love about the card.

Now, cardholders can take advantage of a new promotion offering premium benefits at Marriott hotels. Let’s take a look at the details.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card Luxury Experience

In a move that’s reminiscent of American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts and Chase’s The Edit, this new Luxury Experience Rate gives those with the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card premium benefits when booking rooms at more than 300 eligible properties.

What you’ll get will differ depending on the rate you’re booking:

  • Standard room package: $125 property credit, 1,500 bonus points, welcome letter, and welcome amenity
  • Premium room package: $150 property credit, 2,500 bonus points, welcome letter, welcome amenity, and daily breakfast for 2

Note that this is a limited-time promotion, applicable to bookings made from November 11, 2024, to July 31, 2025. Eligible stays run through August 31, 2025.

Is It Worth It?

Surprisingly, the additional cost for this rate isn’t as bad as you’d expect. For example, here’s a 1-night stay at the W Edinburgh, where a prepaid, nonrefundable rate costs roughly $273 per night.

Meanwhile, a stay using the Luxury Experience Rate costs roughly $327.

That’s a difference of just $54. Considering you get a $125 hotel credit plus a welcome amenity and additional bonus points, that could absolutely be worth it. The rate is also refundable up to 1 day before arrival, which can be a must-have for many travelers.

Keep in mind that those who hold the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card already have Platinum elite status, which entitles them to complimentary breakfast at many properties. This means you can stack your free breakfast with that hotel credit for a luxurious dining experience with pretty low out-of-pocket costs.

Then, there are the bonus points. We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each. That makes 1,500 bonus points worth $10.50, while 2,500 bonus points are worth $17.50.

Of course, the on-property credit is once per stay, so you’re best off booking this rate with 1-night stays, rather than anything longer-term.

Hot Tip:

There are numerous Marriott Bonvoy elite status benefits, which you can learn about in our guide.

Final Thoughts

Marriott has debuted a new, limited-time promotion for those who hold the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card. It allows guests to pay a little more for a premium experience, and the offer runs through July for stays through August 2025.
