Starting today, Southwest credit cards are a bit more rewarding. Now, you can earn up to 5x Southwest Rapid Rewards points on all of your Lyft rides — a significant bump up from the 1x offered previously.

Here are the details of the update.

Earn up to 5x Points on Lyft Rides With Southwest Credit Cards

Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card members can now earn up to 5x points on all Lyft rides by linking accounts and setting their Southwest credit card as their default payment method.

At the moment, this promotion is set to run through the end of December 2027, though it may be extended beyond that date.

All 5 Southwest credit cards are eligible for these increased rewards, including the Southwest Rapid Rewards^® Plus Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards^® Premier Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards^® Priority Credit Card, Southwest^® Rapid Rewards^® Premier Business Credit Card, and the Southwest^® Rapid Rewards^® Performance Business Credit Card, but not all of the cards earn the full 5x rate.

Here’s the breakdown:

Southwest Priority Card and Southwest Performance Business Card: Earn 5x points on Lyft rides through December 2027.
Southwest Premier Card and Southwest Premier Business Card: Earn 3x points on Lyft rides through December 2027.
Southwest Plus Card: Earn 2x points on Lyft rides through December 2027.

This is a welcome addition for Southwest credit cardholders and will make many of these cards among the best credit cards for rideshare purchases.

Stack With Lyft Rewards Partners

In addition to the points you earn from paying for your Lyft ride with your Southwest credit card, Lyft partners with multiple points programs to allow you to earn even more points or miles from your ride, regardless of payment method. They include:

Alaska Atmos Rewards: Earn 3x points on airport rides, Extra Comfort, and Black Rides, along with 2x points on Standard and XL rides.
Bilt Rewards: Earn 2x points on all U.S. rides.
Hilton Honors: Earn 3x points on all rides.
United MileagePlus: Earn 4x miles on scheduled airport rides, 3x miles on Extra Comfort, Black, Black SUV, on-demand airport rides, and 1x miles on all other rides.

You can only link 1 of these partner rewards programs at a time, but each provides a nice way to stack your rewards even further.
