Showcasing aspirational and luxurious hotel redemptions is fun. However, many travelers look for more reasonably priced and practical hotel redemptions. This is where Aloft shines as a budget-friendly mid-tier Marriott Bonvoy hotel brand.

Aloft is primarily known for its “different by design” philosophy, placing an emphasis on a lively, in-hotel social scene mixed with modern art and innovative music. Its hotels feature modern architectural design and contemporary style with a bar and lounge.

In this guide, we take a look at the Aloft brand, how to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, and some of the best-value Aloft hotels that can be booked using points.

Everything You Need To Know About the Aloft Brand

Aloft is a lesser-known brand within the Marriott Bonvoy hotel portfolio and was part of the 2016 acquisition of Starwood Hotels. Although created as a budget version of the W Hotels brand, Aloft has come a long way. According to Marriott, Aloft hotels are “urban-inspired spaces and vibrant social scenes for the next-gen traveler.”

The first Aloft hotel opened in 2008 at the Trudeau International Airport (MTL) in Montréal. Since then, Aloft has expanded to include over 210 international locations in more than 30 countries spanning 5 continents. Although most Aloft hotels are located in city centers or near airports, they can provide good value, especially when redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points.

Properties typically feature a W XYZ bar, Re:mix lounge, Re:fuel by Aloft (a grab-and-go breakfast concept), and the pet-friendly Animals R Fun (Arf) program.

Marriott Bonvoy Credit Cards

Aloft is a member of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, and you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at its hotels.

There are several ways to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, but the best way is with the numerous co-branded Marriott Bonvoy credit cards issued by Chase and American Express.
