JetBlue Premier Card: Is It Worth It?
If you’re a frequent JetBlue flyer, the JetBlue Premier card comes loaded with perks like priority boarding, free checked bags, a discount on inflight purchases, anniversary points, a points rebate on award tickets, and more.
However, many of the perks and benefits offered on the JetBlue Premier card are also offered on the JetBlue Plus card, which has a much lower annual fee.
That said, the JetBlue Premier card does offer Priority Pass airport lounge access, access to JetBlue’s yet-to-open lounges at New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS), up to $300 in statement credits on Paisly purchases per calendar year, and a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit.
Given that, if you often fly with JetBlue but already receive airport lounge access from another card, then this card might not offer enough value to you to justify the annual fee. On the other hand, if you’re a JetBlue loyalist who lives in a JetBlue hub like New York or Boston and you want to access the upcoming JetBlue lounge network, then the JetBlue Premier card could be worth it for you.

Best Ways To Earn and Redeem JetBlue Points
Most cardholders will find that the best way to earn more JetBlue TrueBlue points is to use their JetBlue Premier card for as many purchases as possible. This is especially true for purchases that fall within the card’s bonus categories: JetBlue and Paisly purchases, restaurants, and eligible grocery stores.
That said, spending on the JetBlue Premier card isn’t the only good way to rack up JetBlue points. You could also use platforms like the TrueBlue Shopping portal, the TrueBlue Dining program, and more.
The JetBlue TrueBlue program has a fixed-value structure for flight redemptions. This means the number of points needed for a JetBlue flight redemption is tied to the current cash price of the ticket. Most often, you get between 1.3 and 1.4 cents per point when redeeming for economy tickets and 1.1 cents per point when redeeming for flights in JetBlue Mint business class.
However, JetBlue also offers flight redemptions on partner airlines like Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Hawaiian Airlines. Each of these programs has an award chart instead of fixed-value redemptions, allowing the possibility of getting more value from each point.
Finally, JetBlue Premier cardholders receive 10% of all of their redeemed points credited back to them — but this only applies to JetBlue-operated award flights and not partner flights. Despite that, this effectively boosts the rate at which you can redeem JetBlue points for JetBlue economy tickets to up to 1.6 cents per point.

The JetBlue Plus Card
If you want a card that helps you earn more JetBlue points and offers perks during your JetBlue flights without the high price of the JetBlue Premier card, then the JetBlue Plus card would be a much better fit for you.
In fact, despite its much lower annual fee, the JetBlue Plus card offers everything that the JetBlue Premier card offers, with the exception of airport lounge access, the $300 in statement credits on Paisly purchases per year, and the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit.
Given that, if those perks aren’t of interest to you but you still want free checked bags, priority boarding, a 50% rebate on inflight purchases, a 10% rebate on award tickets, and more, then the JetBlue Plus card is the way to go.
Chase Sapphire Reserve®
If you’re in the market for a premium card but don’t want to limit yourself to only earning JetBlue points, then the Chase Sapphire Reserve card is worth considering.
For starters, it still includes airport lounge access via Priority Pass, meaning it grants you access to all of the same lounges that the JetBlue Premier card does, with the exception of JetBlue lounges.
Further, it offers perks like a $300 annual travel credit; Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or Nexus credit; rental car elite status; and great travel and purchase protections.
Additionally, it earns 10x points on hotels and rental cars purchased through Chase Travel, 5x on flights purchased through Chase Travel, and 3x points on all other travel and dining purchases. Plus, these points can be transferred to a wide variety of Chase transfer partners — including JetBlue.
