Capital One Miles

1. Meet Your Minimum Spending Requirement To Earn Your Welcome Bonus Offer

Earning a welcome bonus offer is always one of the most exciting parts of getting a new credit card, and the Capital One Venture X Business card is no exception. Especially since the welcome offer is:

  • Earn 150,000 bonus miles once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months.

We value this welcome offer at $2,700 based on our valuation of Capital One miles.

Given how excellent a welcome offer this is, you’ll definitely want to have a plan in place for how you plan to meet the minimum spending requirement on your various business expenses.

2. Activate Your Priority Pass Membership

Your Capital One Venture X Business card comes with a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership, which provides access to 1,300+ airport lounges worldwide, but you need to activate your membership first before you can begin using these benefits.

To activate this benefit, navigate to the benefits section of your account online and follow the prompts to complete your activation. You can then receive access to a digital version of your Priority Pass card on the Priority Pass mobile app, and your physical Priority Pass card will be mailed to your address within 14 business days.

Hot Tip:

With your card, you can bring 2 complimentary guests into Priority Pass lounges with you, making the Capital One Venture X Business card great if you frequently travel with others. Any additional guest will be charged at a rate of $35 per visit per guest.

3. Make Note of the Capital One Lounges You Can Visit

Without a doubt, some of the best lounges you’ll have access to include the signature Capital One Lounge network, many of which include amenities like a restaurant-quality dining experience, a coffee bar, spa treatments, relaxation rooms, shower suites, and specialty cocktails.

These lounges are an excellent way to relax or recharge before your flight, but there aren’t that many of them at the moment. Given that, check if you have a Capital One Lounge at your local airport or if there is one available at an airport you often fly to. If you do, you can enjoy the experience to its fullest as a Capital One Venture X Business cardholder.

Hot Tip:

You can’t bring guests into Capital One Lounges with you for free on this card. As of February 1, 2026, up to 4 Venture X Business additional cardholders can now receive lounge access by paying an annual $125 fee. Alternatively, you can purchase a day pass for a guest at a discounted rate of $45 per adult or $25 per guest 17 and under. Review all of the recent lounge updates here.

4. Use Your $300 Annual Travel Credit

Your Capital One Venture X Business card comes with a $300 annual travel credit to use toward travel bookings made through Capital One Business Travel. This benefit is quite flexible thanks to the large range of items you can purchase through Capital One Business Travel, including flights, hotels, rental cars, vacation rental properties, and more.

In our view, if you spend at least $300 on travel each year, this credit is nearly as good as cash, and it likely won’t take long for you to use the full value of it when it resets at the start of each cardmember year.

Plus, since the annual fee of the Capital One Venture X Business card is $395, it effectively drops the annual fee for the card to just $95 per year if you know you’ll easily maximize the $300 annual travel credit each year.

5. Use the Card for Your Business Expenses

Naturally, to start boosting your balance of Capital One miles, you’ll want to start using your new card for all of your business expenses. With your Capital One Venture X Business card, you earn miles at the following rates:

  • 10x miles on hotels and rental cars purchased through Capital One Business Travel
  • 5x miles on flights and vacation rentals purchased through Capital One Business Travel
  • Uncapped 2x miles on all other purchases

This is a great combination of bonus categories that offers you between 5x and 10x miles on your business travel expenses, provided that you book through Capital One Business Travel. It also gives you the peace of mind of knowing that you’ll always earn 2x miles on all of your other business expenses without earning caps.

6. Use Your Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Credit

If you don’t already have Global Entry or TSA PreCheck and you’re a frequent traveler, you are missing out on a significantly expedited travel experience.

TSA PreCheck provides an expedited security experience when traveling from the U.S. airports, while Global Entry provides an expedited customs experience when returning to the U.S. from abroad.

The Capital One Venture X Business card provides you with a statement credit toward your application fee of one of these programs, so long as you pay for the application with your Capital One Venture X Business card.

Hot Tip:

While TSA PreCheck might feel more useful, especially if you primarily travel domestically, we highly recommend that you apply for Global Entry because it includes a TSA PreCheck membership as well, whereas applying for TSA PreCheck alone does not include Global Entry.

7. Sign Up for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle

Those who frequently rent cars during their business travels should appreciate that their Capital One Venture X Business card comes with complimentary Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle status.

Usually, earning this status level would require booking 20 rentals or spending at least $4,000 with Hertz annually. It comes with benefits like:

  • Guaranteed vehicle availability
  • Wider selection of cars
  • Guaranteed 1-car-class upgrades with every rental
  • 50% bonus points on all Hertz rentals
  • Free additional driver
  • Skip the check-in line and head straight to your car

Remember that you need to enroll before you can take advantage of the benefits. Log in to your account, click on the benefits tab, and follow the prompts to link your card with your Hertz account and activate your status benefits.

8. Use Your Premier Collection Property Benefits

Your business travel benefits keep getting better. In addition to earning 10x miles when you book hotels through Capital One Business Travel, if that hotel is part of the Capital One Premier Collection properties, you can score quite a few additional benefits that are similar to elite status benefits. These perks include:

  • Daily breakfast for 2 people
  • Room upgrade when available
  • Early check-in and late checkout
  • $100 experience credit (varies by hotel)
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

This is a great way to enhance the experience of your business trips while saving yourself money on daily breakfast and room upgrades.

9. Add Employee Cards

If your business has employees, you can add employee cards to your card for free. While they won’t receive the majority of the benefits that you receive as the primary cardholder, like the annual travel credit, lounge access, a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit, and Hertz status, their purchases still earn rewards that benefit your Capital One Miles account, and they’ll still receive all of the same travel and purchase protections on those purchases.

Hot Tip:

If you have an employee who travels with you often, you can get them the paid authorized user version of the Capital One Venture X Business card at $125 per year, which grants them their own airport lounge access to Capital One Lounges and Priority Pass lounges. They have this access whether or not they travel with you.

10. Learn the Terms of Your Travel and Purchase Protections

Your card comes with a few travel and purchase protection benefits that help keep you covered.

  • Automobile rental coverage: Receive primary automobile rental collision damage waiver toward accidental damage from collision or theft.
  • Trip delay insurance: Get up to $500 in coverage if your travel is delayed by 6 or more hours toward eligible expenses like lodging and meals
  • Extended warranty: This benefit doubles the time period of the original manufacturer’s written U.S. repair warranty for up to 1 additional year on eligible warranties of 3 years or less for items purchased with your card.

11. Use Your Capital One Offers

Capital One Offers are often overlooked benefits, but these merchant offers can really help you save money or earn more Capital One miles on purchases you were planning to make anyway.

To access your offers, log in to your account on the Capital One website or mobile app.

Unlike programs like Amex Offers and Chase Offers, you don’t add Capital One Offers to your card. Instead, you must click through that offer to create an online shopping trip, and then complete your purchase to trigger the offer and earn your statement credit or additional miles.

12. Decide Whether You Want To Spend $75,000 on the Card to Unlock Guest Lounge Access

Cardholders who spend $75,000 on the card in a calendar year unlock even better airport lounge guest access, allowing you to bring in 2 complimentary guests to Capital One Lounges on all of your trips.

If your business expenses would make it easy for you to spend $75,000 on your Capital One Venture X Business card in a year, and you frequently travel with others, this could be a great added perk for you.

Remember that, since you earn at least 2x miles on all purchases, $75,000 in purchases would earn you at least 150,000 miles, which we value at $2,700. That said, you should also consider your opportunity cost if you hold other business cards that could earn more rewards on select purchases, or if you could use that spend to meet welcome offers on other business credit cards.

Final Thoughts

The Capital One Venture X Business card is easily one of the best business credit cards on the market, thanks to its combination of bonus categories, the strength of the Capital One Miles program, and its great benefits, such as airport lounge access and an annual travel credit.

With this list, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running to start taking advantage of all of the new benefits that your card has to offer.

Upon enrollment, accessible through the Capital One website or mobile app, eligible cardholders will remain at that status level through the duration of the offer. Please note, enrolling through the normal Hertz Gold Plus Rewards enrollment process (e.g. at Hertz.com) will not automatically detect a cardholder as being eligible for the program and cardholders will not be automatically upgraded to the applicable status tier.
