Lyft is one of the most popular ride-sharing apps in the U.S., and you’re probably already using it to price compare ride-share trips. But did you know that Lyft offers a handful of great partnerships that can help you earn even more rewards on all your rides?

Plus, quite a few travel rewards credit cards can help make your Lyft rides even more rewarding.

This guide will clue you in on the details of all of these partnerships so that you can maximize every ride you take with Lyft.

Lyft Partnerships

Lyft has a handful of great partnerships that can help you earn more points and miles or even score discounts on rides. However, not all of them can be used at once, so you’ll need to be selective based on what you’re trying to optimize for.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

When you link your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and Lyft accounts, you will earn 1x Alaska miles on all Lyft rides, excluding taxes, fees, tolls, and tips. Additionally, if you’re new to Lyft, you’ll receive 50% off your first 2 rides, up to $10 per ride.

Bilt Rewards

With Bilt as your selected partner, you’ll earn 2x Bilt Points on all U.S. Lyft rides, excluding taxes, tolls, fees, tips, scooter rides, and membership subscriptions.

Additionally, when you link your Bilt account with Lyft, you’ll have the option of redeeming Bilt points you’ve earned previously to offset the cost of your Lyft rides at a 1 cent per point redemption rate.

DoorDash

While it doesn’t allow you to earn more rewards on your rides, those who have a DoorDash DashPass membership can link their DoorDash and Lyft accounts to score discounts and added perks.

Specifically, you’ll receive:

  • 5% off on-demand Lyft rides and 10% off scheduled airport rides (up to 4 per month combined)
  • 2 free priority pickup upgrades per month
  • A 3-month free DoorDash DashPass trial for new members

Hilton Honors

You can earn Hilton Honors points during your Lyft rides at a rate of 3 points per $1 spent on all rides in the U.S. and Canada, again with the usual exclusions.

Members can redeem their Hilton Honors points for Lyft credits at 450 Hilton points per $1 in Lyft credit. This has a redemption value of 0.022 cents per Hilton point, less than half of our valuation of Hilton points, so it’s not a great option in most cases.

Which Lyft Partner Should You Earn Rewards With?

You can only select 1 Lyft partner to earn rewards on all your rides. However, this does not apply to the DoorDash DashPass partnership. DashPass members should be sure to link their 2 accounts and select an additional partner to earn rewards with.

Bilt is by far the best partner for earning rewards on Lyft rides. It offers access to 20 travel transfer partners, including Alaska and Hilton, and other great partners such as Air Canada Aeroplan, Virgin Atlantic, and World of Hyatt.

We value Bilt Rewards points at 2 cents per point, so earning 2 points per $1 on your Lyft rides offers an additional 4% back based on our valuation.

That said, if you’re a dedicated Hilton loyalist looking to earn as many Hilton points as possible, you could earn Hilton points instead since you’ll earn 3x points on Lyft rides. However, this choice leaves some value and flexibility on the table.

We advise against selecting Alaska as your partner, as you’ll only earn 1x miles on your Lyft rides. This option makes little sense compared to Bilt, where you’ll earn 2x points on Lyft rides and can transfer your Bilt points to Alaska miles at a 1:1 rate.

As you can see, there’s no shortage of credit cards that reward you for Lyft rides.

Deciding which credit card is best for you will come down to what you are looking for in a new card. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card is the most rewarding of the bunch, but that doesn’t make it the right fit for everyone.

Consider what perks beyond Lyft benefits you’re looking for out of a new card, what types of rewards you’d like to earn, and whether you’re comfortable paying an annual fee, to help you narrow down the card that’s best for you.

Final Thoughts

You’re probably checking Lyft each time you need to book a ride-share vehicle. Next time, keep in mind that your credit card might help you get more value out of your rides. Even if you only take Lyft rides occasionally, you should link a partnership account to your Lyft account, as they are all free to join and help you earn more rewards on all of your rides.
