IHG is planning its newest Hotel Indigo in Saudi Arabia within NEOM, a monumental $500 billion megaproject spanning over 10,000 square miles and 10 different regions.

Here’s everything that you need to know.

Hotel Indigo Oxagon Opening in 2026

The 250-room Hotel Indigo property will be located within a residential community of Oxagon, a futuristic industrial metropolis — and one of the 10 regions planned within NEOM. To date, Saudi Arabia has announced 4 NEOM regions: Oxagon, The Line, Trojena, and Sindalah.

Once complete, Oxagon is said to become the largest floating industrial complex in the world and will be a key port in the NEOM supersite. Much of the NEOM project is set to be built by 2030.

While details are still scarce, as with other Hotel Indigo properties, this outpost in Saudi Arabia’s city of the future will be a lifestyle hotel offering retail and dining concepts onsite. This will include cafés, a pool lounge, and a specialty restaurant.

Additionally, there will be a variety of leisure and wellness facilities including a spa and 24-hour fitness center.

“We are excited to announce the upcoming opening of this new property in Oxagon, where an innovative blueprint for industry and remarkable livability is being crafted,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director at IHG, in a written statement.

How To Book IHG Hotels in Saudi Arabia

This Hotel Indigo in Saudi Arabia won’t open until 2026 (at the earliest). However, IHG currently operates 37 hotels across five brands in Saudi Arabia, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and voco. Those properties are bookable using IHG One Rewards points.

Luckily, it’s relatively easy to earn IHG One Rewards points. IHG offers 3 cards — 2 personal and 1 business — all issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

This latest IHG development is just a sliver of the jaw-dropping (and controversial) NEOM undertaking in Saudi Arabia. Whatever your thoughts on this megaproject, there’s no doubt it’s turning heads from all over the world, and it seems like hotel chains will find plenty of opportunity in this futuristic development, as is evidenced by this announcement from IHG.

We have a feeling we’ll be hearing many more hotel announcements for NEOM in the coming years.
