Marriott has announced the opening of JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi in Kenya. Located in the Westlands district, at 35 stories, it will soon be the tallest hotel in the country.

This new hotel offers guests a peaceful oasis within a bustling African city — let’s jump into the details.

JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi Is Now Open

JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi is the brand’s first property in the capital city and second overall in Kenya (the other location, JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge, opened in 2023.)

This 315-room hotel boasts 5 restaurants, a luxury spa, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and 8 event spaces. 51 serviced apartments on the top 9 floors will open later this year.

The hotel’s interior, designed by George Wong, was inspired by the colors and spirit of the African savannah. Unique artwork, including sculptures, wall murals, and textiles, that celebrate Kenya and its landscapes can be found throughout the hotel.

“JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi perfectly embodies the city’s contemporary yet mindful urban lifestyle. The property combines the warmth of African hospitality with serene spaces where guests can disconnect from distraction, focus on the present moment, and reconnect with what matters most to them.”

Helen Leighton, Vice President, Luxury Brands & Communications, Marriott International, Europe, Middle East & Africa

The Spa at JW and fitness center aim to help guests continue their wellness journey away from home. Customized massages and treatments are available at the spa, while the fitness center features a yoga studio, steam room, and an outdoor pool and terrace overlooking the city.

Culinary adventures can be found at any of the hotel’s 5 dining locations. MIDI Café & Patisserie offers light bites throughout the day, while Myna Restaurant serves African-inspired international cuisine. Hudson Tavern Bar & Grill is a laid-back sports bar, and Mughal offers fine dining with a dedicated cocktail bar. Finally, Mr. Pang Sky Bar & Lounge, which is scheduled to open later this year, will serve Pan-Asian cuisine from its fantastic 31st-floor location.

How to Book the JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi

JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi is bookable for reservations starting in April via Marriott’s website using cash or Marriott Bonvoy points. Prices are surprisingly affordable, starting at $258 or 31,000 Marriott points per night.

If you need more Marriott Bonvoy points, don’t forget you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, or Bilt Rewards points 1:1 to Marriott. There are also lots of credit cards that earn Marriott points.

Hot Tip:

JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi can be booked for as few as 31,000 points per night. That makes this a great property for those 35,000-point Marriott free night certificates you may have in your account.

Final Thoughts

The JW Marriott brand’s second Kenya location is now open. JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi is a modern, high-rise hotel that incorporates modern amenities with the beauty of Kenya’s natural landscape.
