Ask what a Bilt Point is worth, and the answer, give or take, is anything from “it depends” to 2 cents.

That figure is a fine starting line and not much more.

What a point actually returns depends on how you earn it and how you spend it, and redemption values can range from about half a cent to more than 20 cents — though that’s rare.

Here’s what Bilt Points are worth once you move past the valuation chart and start booking real trips.

A Benchmark Worth Questioning

We value Bilt Points at 2 cents each. Other corners of the internet value Bilt Rewards points anywhere from 1.5 to 1.8 cents each. That’s a useful reminder that the ceiling and the average are not the same thing.

That makes 2 cents a useful target, not a baseline value you receive automatically. Earn near the top of the range and transfer to the right partner, and 2 cents is well within reach. Cash out points for convenience, and a Bilt Point can be worth roughly a quarter of that.

Everything below is about which side of that line you end up on.

What You Actually Earn

Rent is the reason most people join Bilt Rewards, and it is also where the earnings get complicated.

All 3 Bilt credit cards can earn up to 1x or 1.25x on rent and mortgage payments, but the ceiling takes effort. There are 2 systems. In the first, you earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spending, then redeem that Bilt Cash — $30 unlocks 1,000 Bilt Points — to lift housing earnings up to 1x. In the second, you skip Bilt Cash and automatically earn up to 1.25x on housing, scaled to how much you put on the card elsewhere (offer terms). Up to $100 of Bilt Cash earned rolls over to the next year.

Let’s look at an example. Say your rent is $2,000. The Bilt Cash route unlocks up to 1x on that payment: 2,000 Bilt Points. The automatic route can reach 1.25x, or 2,500 Bilt Points, but only if your everyday spending clears the thresholds needed to unlock that earning rate. Miss those thresholds, and your earnings can fall to the floor of 250 Bilt Points per payment. Pay rent without any Bilt card, and 250 points per payment is all you get, plus any earnings from the credit card you use.

The cards themselves are simpler.

The Bilt Blue Card has no annual fee and earns 1x points on everyday purchases, plus a welcome offer of $100 in Bilt Cash (rates & fees; offer terms). The Bilt Obsidian Card has a $95 annual fee, earns 3x points on your choice of dining or groceries (groceries capped at $25,000 per year and you can choose which category earns 3x once per year), 2x points on travel, and 1x points spent elsewhere, plus $200 in Bilt Cash to start (rates & fees; offer terms).

The Bilt Palladium Card sits at $495 a year, earns 2x points on everything except rent and mortgage, and has a welcome offer (subject to approval) of 50,000 points, Bilt Rewards Gold status, and $300 in Bilt Cash after $4,000 of spending in 90 days (rates & fees; offer terms). This card also offers a Priority Pass lounge membership after enrollment.*

The Blue Card suits renters who want points without an annual fee or fees on rent payments, the Obsidian Card rewards heavy dining or grocery spenders, and the Palladium Card earns its keep only if the travel perks and flat 2x earning rate offset the fee for keeping it.

You do not need a Bilt credit card to build a balance. Link any card to your Bilt account, and you earn on dining at participating restaurants, Lyft rides, Walgreens, parking, and fitness classes. Because those bonuses stack on whatever card you pay with, you can double-dip and collect Bilt Points on a transaction alongside your other card’s rewards. On Rent Day, the first of each month, card spending earns double points, up to 1,000 bonus points (offer terms). Reach Silver status or higher, and Bilt even pays interest in points on your balance.

Redemptions That Clear the Benchmark

Transfers to Bilt’s airline and hotel partners are where Bilt Points earn their keep. Most partners transfer at a 1:1 ratio, and typical transfer values range from 1.5 to 2 cents per point — at or just under the benchmark.

The math to check any redemption is simple: Divide the cash price of what you book (minus any taxes and fees) by the points it costs, then multiply by 100. A $2,000 business class ticket for 60,000 Bilt Points works out to 3.3 cents per point.

A few partners clear 2 cents regularly. World of Hyatt is one of the best uses, often worth more than 2 cents per point, with award stays that waive resort fees. Alaska’s Atmos Rewards averages closer to 1.5 cents, but Bilt is the only major bank that transfers to it, making it the entry point for low-cost American Airlines flights and free stopovers. Emirates Skywards runs closer to 1.2 cents, yet Bilt is the last points program with a full 1:1 transfer rate, so the access itself has value.

Redemptions That Beat It by a Lot

The eye-catching numbers come from premium cabins and a handful of sweet spots, and they need specific routes rather than everyday flexibility.

Transfer to Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, where a one-way business class ticket to Türkiye can reach 6.7 cents per point, while flights within the U.S. start at 15,000 miles. British Airways Club prices short-haul awards from 4,000 Avios, while a New York-to-London business class seat can fetch roughly 5.8 cents per point.

Air France-KLM Flying Blue runs monthly Promo Rewards and offers competitive award fares on U.S.-to-Europe business class, another reliable path past 2 cents. United MileagePlus adds no fuel surcharges on its own flights or its Star Alliance partners, which keeps Polaris business class to Europe cheap in dollars even when the mileage is high.

The extremes live in first class: Virgin Atlantic Flying Club‘s 145,000 or 170,000 points for ANA first class works out to nearly 21 cents per point, and Cathay Pacific first class to Hong Kong sits in the same range.

Value is not confined to premium cabins, either. Transfers to Aer Lingus AerClub and economy flights to Dublin start around 13,000 Bilt Points, which is cheap enough to clear the benchmark on a route where cash fares climb.

Bottom Line:

The headline redemptions are not the everyday experience. They depend on award space, off-peak dates, and cabins that most travelers book once in a while rather than once a month.

Where the Value Moves Down

Bilt’s own nontransfer options are where value is lower.

The Bilt Travel Portal, powered by Expedia, offers a flat 1.25 cents per point, which beats the 1-cent floor of many programs but trails a good transfer. Everything else sits below that.

Statement credits and rent redemptions bottom out at 0.55 cents per point. Amazon purchases, gift cards, and Lyft rides hover around 0.7 cents. Student loan payments hit 1 cent, and a home down payment reaches 1.5 cents — the best of the cashlike uses.

Redeem a Bilt Point for rent at 0.55 cents, and you have handed back nearly three-quarters of its potential value for the sake of convenience.

Final Thoughts

A Bilt Point is worth whatever your redemption makes it.

Earn near the housing ceiling, spend enough to unlock the full rate, and move your points to Hyatt or an airline with valuable redemptions, and 2 cents or better is well within reach — occasionally many times that.

Lean on statement credits, Amazon, or rent redemptions, and you’ll get closer to half a cent. The value is tangible, but it rewards travelers who transfer with intent and shortchanges those who cash out for ease. The points do not decide their own worth. You do, every time you redeem.
