Chase Marriott Rewards Credit Cards
Each Marriott Rewards credit card comes with a variety of benefits as well as a sign-up bonus to get you started on the right track.
Based on your needs, you can decide which card is best for you. Take a look at the reviews below to make this easy.
Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card

The Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card can help you earn plenty of Marriott Rewards points. This can be especially useful if you would prefer to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to other partners.
With this card, you’ll earn 5X points per dollar spent on all purchases at Marriott and Starwood hotels. You’ll also earn 2X points per dollar spent on airfare purchased directly from airlines, at restaurants, and at rental car companies. Purchases that do not fall under one of these bonus categories will earn 1X points per dollar spent.
The sign-up bonus that comes with the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card varies, but it is often around 80,000 Marriott Rewards points. To earn the sign-up bonus, you will be required to meet a minimum spending threshold. Make sure you check the details of the offer available to you.
This card doesn’t have any foreign transaction fees and has an $85 annual fee.
Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card
If you have a small business, the Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card might be just the ticket to some free hotel nights and a way to earn Gold elite status with Marriott Rewards.
Like the personal version of the card, you will earn 5X points per dollar spent at Marriott and Starwood hotel properties. You will earn 2X points per dollar spent on airline tickets bought directly from airlines.
Additionally, you will earn 2X points per dollar spent at restaurants, office supply stores, car rental agencies, and on cable, internet, and phone service purchases. All other purchases will earn 1X points per dollar spent.
The sign-up bonus for the Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card is often similar to the personal version at around 80,000 Marriott Rewards points. There will also be a minimum spending requirement to earn this sign-up bonus. The offer varies, so check the details of the offer at the time of application.
One key difference between this card and the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card is that you can earn Gold Elite Status with Marriott Rewards by spending $50,000 during your account year. Your account year starts when you open the account and ends after 12 statements.
This card does not incur foreign transaction fees and has a $99 annual fee.
Earn Elite Status Nights
Both cards come with 15 nights toward elite status when you are approved for the card. Additionally, you will receive these 15 nights each year you maintain the account. These 15 nights are enough to automatically earn you Silver elite status with Marriott Rewards, and you’ll be well on your way to Gold status.
Elite Status Level | Nights Required |
Silver | 10 Nights |
Gold | 50 Nights |
Platinum | 75 Nights |
The only significant difference between being a regular member and having Silver elite status is the 20% bonus points earned on your paid stays with Marriott. Once you reach Gold status, you’ll receive benefits such as lounge access, complimentary upgrades (when available), 4 pm late check-out, and more.
Annual Free Night Certificate

You will also receive a free night certificate after you have reached your account anniversary. The certificate can be used at any Category 1-5 Marriott property. You will have 1 year from the date of issuance to book your free night.
If you’re looking for a fun way to use your free night certificate, you’ll often find the best value at a Category 5 Marriott hotel such as The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa in Vietnam. It’s a fantastic resort where you can relax and enjoy some great food.
Travel Protections
Like many other Chase credit cards, the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card and the Marriott Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card come with a number of travel protections.
With trip delay insurance, you will be eligible for up to $500 in reimbursement if your flight is delayed by 12 hours or the delay forces you to stay overnight. Reimbursable expenses include hotel costs, meals, ground transportation to and from the airport, and more. Make sure you confirm what is covered under the terms and conditions before making a purchase with your card.
If you arrive at your destination but your bag is delayed by at least 6 hours, you can also be reimbursed up to $100 per day for 5 days for essential purchases like toiletries and clothes. In the unfortunate event that your bags are lost, whether checked or carry-on, you can count on $3,000 in coverage per passenger.

Marriott Travel Packages
Marriott has travel packages that allow you to redeem Marriott Rewards points for free nights and frequent flyer miles. There are several versions of the Hotel + Air packages that each contain different airline options.
How many miles you earn will be determined by the number of Marriott Rewards points you use. Additionally, the Marriott points required are determined by the category under which a hotel falls. You can also book packages with Ritz-Carlton, and the points required are based on the hotel tier.

The RewardsPlus Hotel + Air Package allows you to earn United MileagePlus miles. Depending on the package, you can earn up to 132,000 United miles. This is one of the more popular ways to use a Hotel + Air Package.

You aren’t limited to earning United miles though. You can also earn up to 120,000 miles (or Avios) with 12 airlines or up to 85,000 miles with another 24 airlines. This can be a great way to book a vacation and earn a ton of Alaska miles on top of it. In fact, the 120,000 Alaska miles you would earn are enough to book a round-trip award to Australia on Cathay Pacific in business class.

Another popular Hotel + Air Package gets you a Marriott hotel stay and 120,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points. If you have the Southwest Companion Pass, this is an excellent way to book your hotels and earn some more Rapid Rewards points that can take you and a companion on all kinds of adventures.
