As of September 23, 2025, cardholders can now transfer miles to Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Transfer rates vary depending on the partner.

Even better, one of these transfer partners is launching with a limited-time 30% transfer bonus, so there’s a lot to get excited about. Let’s jump in.

Capital One’s 3 New Transfer Partners

Those with a Capital One credit card that earns miles are gaining flexibility, as their miles now have 3 additional partners. The latest additions to Capital One’s transfer partners include 2 airlines and a hotel partner: Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Here’s a closer look at each one.

Japan Airlines Mileage Bank

Japan Airlines‘ loyalty program is called Mileage Bank. Capital One miles will transfer to Mileage Bank at a rate of 2:1.5. That means every 1,000 Capital One miles you transfer will yield 750 airline miles.

Japan Airlines (commonly referred to as JAL) is a member of the Oneworld alliance, meaning you can use these miles not just on JAL flights to, from, and within Japan, but you can also use them to fly with American Airlines, British Airways, and more.

Additionally, transfers to JAL are launching with a 30% transfer bonus, available through October 22, 2025, giving Capital One cardholders extra miles for a limited time. During this period, you can transfer Capital One miles to Mileage Bank at a 2:1.95 ratio — or 975 airline miles for every 1,000 Capital One miles you send over.

Other transfer partners to Mileage Bank include Bilt Rewards (1:1), Barclays (2.3:1), and Marriott Bonvoy (3:1 transfers).

Qatar Airways Privilege Club

Qatar Airways‘ loyalty program is Privilege Club, and this airline is also part of the Oneworld alliance. Qatar Airways offers the much-loved Qsuite business class, which is among the best business-class seats in the world.

You can also book partner airlines with Qatar Airways Avios, flying on Royal Jordanian, Cathay Pacific, Alaska Airlines, and even JetBlue.

Transfers to Privilege Club are done at a 1:1 ratio, meaning 1,000 Capital One miles become 1,000 Avios. It’s also useful since you can move Avios freely and instantly between programs that share this currency, including Aer Lingus, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, and Vueling.

Other transfer options to Qatar Airways include Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, Rove Miles, and Marriott Bonvoy. Transfers from Marriott are done at a 3:1 ratio, while the others are 1:1.

I Prefer

Preferred Hotels & Resorts operates the I Prefer program, and transfers will happen at a 1:2 ratio. That means every 1,000 miles you send to I Prefer will yield 2,000 hotel points.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts is a global network of more than 600 independent luxury hotels, resorts, and residences found in more than 80 countries. There are 5 different “collections” for these properties: Legend, L.V.X., Lifestyle, Connect, and Preferred Residences, with varying price points.

Previously, the best ways to book Preferred Hotels were using Choice Privileges points or transfers from Citi ThankYou Rewards to I Prefer — the program’s only transfer partner until now. Citi’s transfers have an advantageous 1:4 transfer rate, which is double the transfer rate available from Capital One.

Final Thoughts

Capital One cardholders now have 3 more options for transferring their miles. The program has added transfers to Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts, but the transfer rate varies for each partner.

Plus, for a limited time, transfers to JAL Mileage Bank come with a 30% bonus, bringing them close to a 1:1 ratio for the next month.
