There are few hotter cities for new hotels in 2023 than Rome, Italy. The capital has seen a slew of high-end properties open, including the Six Senses Rome, InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, Bulgari Hotel Rome, and many more.

Now, you can add Marriott’s EDITION brand to this growing list, as this modern luxury hotel is now open to guests in the Eternal City. The 91-room Ian Schrager-conceived property is positioned in one of the most enviable areas of town, only a few short steps from Via Veneto.

Here is what you should know about the highly-anticipated The Rome EDITION.

The Rome EDITION Now Open to Guests

Built in the 1940s and in a structure occupied by an Italian bank, the hotel retains original architectural features including the central courtyards and original statues and lamps.

It’s a gorgeous blend of old and new, including an indoor-outdoor space with more than 400 plants — functioning as both a piazza and a dining space.

Besides the garden, The Rome EDITION has 3 bars, a rooftop lounge and pool, an urban wellness space with gym and treatment rooms, and a restaurant with Roman Chef Paola Colucci at the helm, the hotel’s chef partner.

The 91 rooms include 17 spacious suites, with all the design elements the brand is renowned for: the muted tones, the accents of walnut wood, and stunning custom-designed furniture. However, since this property is in Rome, there’s a decidedly Italian flair to it all. Rooms feature Peperino stone and custom bedside tables along with Italian artwork adorning the walls. And, it wouldn’t be an EDITION hotel without signature Le Lebo-branded amenities.

Such luxury will come at a price, whether using cash or Marriott Bonvoy points. Rates for late summer and fall dates start at around $500 or 83,000 Bonvoy points per night.

Fortunately, it’s relatively easy to earn Marriott Bonvoy points. If you’re looking to score a large number of points quickly, consider one of Marriott’s co-branded credit cards, all of which offer sizable welcome bonuses. And then, of course, you can redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at thousands of Marriott properties across the globe.

Hot Tip:

You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points and American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

The highly-anticipated The Rome EDITION is the latest hotel in Marriott’s push for dominance in the luxury sector. That includes 30 new EDITION properties to open globally by 2027.
