American Express’ Centurion Lounges are wildly popular. From free massages to elegant wine tastings, these airport lounges have seen a surge in customers that often leads to long wait times and overcrowding. But despite these issues, you’ll often find Centurion Lounges to be some of the finest lounges you’ll find in any airport. This newest iteration of the Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York joins 13 other locations worldwide.
New Centurion Lounge Location in LaGuardia’s Terminal B
This is actually a reopening for the LaGuardia lounge after its long-awaited relocation to its new home. In its old iteration, you’d need to visit before clearing security, which took up valuable time and left travelers worried about making it to their gate. The new location in Terminal B is airside — which means you can sip wine mere feet from your gate (if your flight is departing from Terminal B, of course).
The lounge boasts locally sourced alcoholic drinks as well as chef-designed dishes. Amex has also partnered with a local independent bookstore, McNally Jackson, to offer refined study space with the ability to purchase the books it features elsewhere in the terminal.
Although this reopening is exciting news for Amex fans, the new Centurion Lounge is just one of the thousands that are available to eligible Amex cardholders. Along with Centurion Lounges, cardholders of the aforementioned cards can enjoy the American Express Global Lounge Collection, which includes Escape Lounges — The Centurion Studio Partner,Delta Sky Club access (when flying on Delta), Select Virgin Clubhouses, Select Lufthansa Lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, and all International American Express Centurion Lounges.
A Priority Pass membership is also included in the collection, which grants access to over 1,400 lounges around the world (enrollment required). This network features a variety of options such as Alaska Lounges and even Cathay Pacific’s The Wing, First Class Lounge in Hong Kong.
The Centurion Lounge at LaGuardia reopening is great news for Amex cardholders traveling through LGA and is a welcome addition to Amex’s already stunning lounge lineup. Along with highly-anticipated Centurion Lounge openings in London (LHR) and Washington, D.C. (DCA), the new LaGuardia lounge is another feather in Amex’s airport lounge cap.
