Bilt Rewards originally launched as a way to earn points on rent without the extra fees that come from paying rent on a credit card through other systems. Since then, the program has expanded far beyond that, including mortgage payments, partnerships with Walgreens and various fitness studios, and much more.

Bilt’s main value is earning rewards on rent without transaction fees. Members can also earn rewards on mortgage payments and even student housing across numerous campuses. However, the addition of Bilt Cash (offer terms) as a secondary currency in 2026 has complicated the Bilt Rewards program and requires a serious analysis of how to maximize your earnings while asking whether the effort is worth it in your particular situation.

Bilt Rewards has a solid lineup of transfer partners, and it’s also possible to redeem points for shopping, limited-edition items, fitness classes, and within the travel portal.

Let’s dig into our review of Bilt Rewards to learn the ins and outs of this program.

What Is Bilt Rewards?

Bilt Rewards is a loyalty program that allows members and credit cardholders to earn points on purchases.

You can earn Bilt Points without a Bilt credit card, but you earn more points with a Bilt credit card than without. The best way to earn Bilt Points is to spend on a Bilt Rewards credit card.

When you apply for a Bilt credit card, you’re automatically enrolled in Bilt Rewards. Otherwise, you can register for a Bilt Rewards account through the program’s website or mobile app.

Once you’ve racked up enough rewards, you can redeem Bilt Points for amazing travel bookings. Plus, while you’re racking up points from rent payments, you can build your credit history.

How To Earn Bilt Points

Earn Points by Paying Rent

Bilt’s claim to fame is earning points by paying rent without administrative fees, so it only makes sense that one of the best ways to earn Bilt Points is through rent payments.

There are 3 different situations that determine how many points you earn on rent payments made through the website or Bilt Rewards app:

  • 250 points: If your rent is less than $250 or you don’t have a Bilt Rewards credit card, you earn 250 points on the payment.
  • Up to 1 point per $1 spent: With the introduction of Bilt Cash in 2026, those with a Bilt credit card can unlock points on housing payments by redeeming $30 of Bilt Cash for every 1,000 points on housing they want to earn from their credit card. You earn 4% Bilt Cash on your Bilt credit card for spending that isn’t on housing and can use that Bilt Cash to unlock up to 1x earnings on housing payments.
  • Up to 1.25 points per $1 spent: You can select this secondary system to ignore Bilt Cash and earn up to 1.25x on housing payments, not earning any Bilt Cash. The earning rate on your housing payment depends on how much you spend on your credit card every month for outside of housing expenses. You unlock 0.5x to 1.25x earnings based on this number.

You earn at least 250 points per rent payment, even if your rent payment is lower than $250.

If your landlord or mortgage partner isn’t tied into the Bilt Rewards network, Bilt sends a check on your behalf so you can make payments through Bilt and earn points along the way. If your landlord has an online payment portal, you can use your Bilt credit card to make the payment without transaction fees.

Hot Tip:

If you don’t have a Bilt credit card, you can still process your rent payments through Bilt to earn 250 points per rent payment.

Earn Points on Mortgage Payments

Bilt launched the ability to earn points on mortgage payments in February 2026, and earning rates follow the same scheme as rent payments.

You can choose the Bilt Cash option and earn Bilt Cash from everyday spending on your credit card, then use that to unlock points on housing payments. Alternatively, you can forgo Bilt Cash and earn between 0.5x and 1.25x on housing payments based on how much you use your Bilt credit card during the month.

Earn More Points With Rent Day

On the first day of every month, Bilt has Rent Day. Between 12 a.m. Eastern time to 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on Rent Day, you earn double points on purchases made with your credit card (with the exception of housing payments, which aren’t doubled). You can earn up to 1,000 bonus points every month from credit card spending during Rent Day.

On Bilt Rent Day, you can access special offers, which have included 2-for-1 cruise fares through Virgin Voyages, point transfer bonuses, free points through trivia games, and rent giveaways.

This is a great way to earn more points and potentially win big prizes.

Earn Points by Dining Out

One of the best ways to earn bonus points with Bilt Rewards is to use your Bilt credit card to pay for your meals when dining out. Bilt cards may earn bonus points on dining and up to 5x points when dining at a Bilt Neighborhood Dining restaurant.

Dining is classified as:

  • Eating places and restaurants
  • Drinking places
  • Bakeries
  • Fast food restaurants

Notably, the fine print states that “caterers, grocery stores, and other miscellaneous places that serve food or operate restaurants on their premises are not considered eating places and restaurants.”

Earn Points by Booking Travel

With Bilt’s midtier Obsidian Card, you can earn bonus points on travel. This includes an unlimited 2 points per $1 spent on the following types of travel expenses:

  • Airlines
  • Car rental agencies
  • Cruise lines
  • Hotels
  • Motels
  • Purchases on the Bilt Rewards Travel Portal
  • Resorts

Mastercard explicitly excludes these categories from travel:

  • Boat lease or rental
  • Bus lines
  • Campgrounds
  • Ferries
  • Garages
  • Motor home or recreational vehicle rental
  • Online travel sites
  • Parking lots
  • Passenger railways and trains
  • Real estate agents
  • Rideshares
  • Taxicabs and limousines
  • Timeshares
  • Toll bridges and highways
  • Travel agencies
  • Vacation rental platforms (such as VRBO and Airbnb)

If you spend $500 on airfare and $300 on Airbnb stays in a month, you may earn bonus points on your airfare but only 1 point per $1 spent on your Airbnb purchase, since it is ineligible to earn bonus points.

Members with Gold or Platinum elite status can also earn 2x points and extra perks when booking luxury hotels on Bilt’s Home Away from Home platform.

Earn Points by Referring a Friend

In the past, Bilt Rewards offered a way to earn points from referring friends to a Bilt credit card. Unfortunately, this program is not currently available.

Here’s how it worked in the past. You could earn 2,500 Bilt Points as a referral bonus for each successful Bilt credit card referral. For every 5 successful referrals made, you received another 10,000 Bilt Points. Thus, if you made 5 successful referrals, you earned 12,500 points plus an extra 10,000-point bonus, for a total of 22,500 points.

You could earn a maximum of 50 referral bonuses under this offer.

Here were some of the requirements for referrals to qualify for the bonus:

  • The recipient hasn’t previously opened a Bilt Rewards account or a Bilt credit card.
  • They must apply through your unique link and referral code.
  • If the referral submits more than 1 application, the bonus is only awarded to the application that results in an approved account.

Referral bonuses were deposited within 30 days of the qualified referral being approved for a Bilt credit card.

Earn Bilt Points With Lyft

Through Bilt’s partnership with Lyft, Bilt cardmembers earn 5x points on rides after linking their Bilt and Lyft accounts. You can do that by following these steps:

  1. Open the Lyft app.
  2. Click on the main menu (upper left corner).
  3. Select the tab that says “Rewards” and scroll down to the Loyalty Rewards section.
  4. Select Bilt Rewards as your loyalty partner and follow the steps to link your account.

Bilt Rewards members who don’t have a Bilt credit card can still earn 2x points on Lyft rides by linking their accounts.

Earn Points on Fitness Classes

Bilt members can earn up to 3x points on popular fitness classes like Barry’s Bootcamp, SoulCycle, and more. Simply book your class through the Bilt app and earn bonus points along with certain freebies:

  • Barry’s: 2x Bilt Points and a complimentary shake from the fuel bar
  • BFT: 3x Bilt Points
  • CorePower Yoga: 3x Bilt Points and complimentary yoga mat and towel rental
  • CycleBar: 3x Bilt Points and complimentary shoe rental
  • Pure Barre: 3x Bilt Points
  • Rumble Boxing: 3x Bilt Points and complimentary glove rental
  • SoulCycle: 3x Bilt Points, complimentary shoes rental, and bottled water
  • Y7: 3x Bilt Points, complimentary mat and towel rental
  • YogaSix: 3x Bilt Points

Earn Points at Walgreens

You don’t have to be a Bilt credit cardholder to earn bonus points on purchases. Bilt allows all members to earn bonus points at Walgreens on select purchases and subscription refills. Simply link a credit card to your Bilt account and use it to earn bonus points on Walgreens purchases.

  • 1x Bilt Points on all Walgreens purchases
  • 2x points on Walgreens-branded items
  • 100 Bilt Points on prescription refills (exclusions apply)

Bilt Rewards members also receive free photo prints and the ability to apply HSA/FSA benefits to purchases.

Earn Interest on Your Bilt Points Balance

One of the most unique ways Bilt lets you earn rewards is via “interest” (in the form of points) on your Bilt rewards balance. The exact amount varies by your Bilt status level and is based on the FDIC national savings rate.

Bilt Rewards has 4 status tiers, which you can earn by accruing points or a specific amount of credit card spending:

  • Blue: Anyone enrolled in Bilt Rewards
  • Silver: At least 50,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $10,000 in eligible spend
  • Gold: At least 125,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $25,000 in eligible spend
  • Platinum: At least 200,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $50,000 in eligible spend

Earn Points When You Renew or Sign a Lease

Bilt offers bonus point incentives when you sign a new lease or renew an existing one with a property in the Bilt Rewards Alliance. These incentives vary by property but can amount to thousands of points, which you can claim for yourself or share among roommates.

Additionally, Bilt members with Silver elite status or higher can earn 10% to 50% bonus points when signing or renewing a lease and paying the bill with a Bilt credit card:

  • Blue: 0%
  • Silver: 10%
  • Gold: 25%
  • Platinum: 50%

Earn Points on a Home Purchase

Earning points on rent is great, but what if you’re ready to buy a home? Bilt makes it possible to earn a lot of points on a home purchase through eXp Realty. Members earn 1 Bilt Point for every $2 of the closing price of their new home, which can add up substantially.

Most people get nothing when buying a new home, so earning hundreds of Bilt Points is incredibly rewarding.

Earn Points on Parking

Bilt’s partnership with Metropolis allows members to earn points when parking at over 4,200 locations nationwide. The Neighborhood Parking tab in the Bilt app offers at least 1 Bilt Point per $1 spent on parking.

This is a great way to earn points for parking, and it also offers convenience because you can check the app for open spaces rather than driving around looking for one.

Earn Points on GoPuff Orders

With Bilt’s GoPuff partnership, members can earn and redeem points on GoPuff orders. GoPuff is a delivery app that offers lightning-fast delivery times (most often 15 minutes or less) and is a convenient alternative to DoorDash. Details of the earning and redemption rates haven’t been announced yet, but all transactions can be done on the Bilt mobile app.

Earn Points With Rakuten

Through Bilt’s partnership with Rakuten, you can earn points when shopping online using the Rakuten shopping portal or browser extension. This is a simple and straightforward way to put your points-earning activity on autopilot, especially if you’re using the Rakuten browser extension.

How To Redeem Bilt Points

One of the most attractive features of Bilt Rewards is the ability to redeem Bilt Points for luxury travel. You can transfer Bilt Points to airline and hotel partners for award travel, redeem them for daily expenses, use points in the travel portal, and so on.

Bilt Rewards Transfer Partners: Airlines and Hotels

One of the best ways to redeem Bilt points is through Bilt’s transfer partners. With both domestic and international frequent flyer programs, there are lots of ways to put your rewards to good use.

Whether you want to book an Emirates business-class ticket halfway around the world or a short domestic flight on United Airlines, Bilt has you covered.

Bilt’s partner list is among the most comprehensive. It has United MileagePlus and the World of Hyatt loyalty program, both of which have numerous strengths (though neither is perfect).

You must transfer points in increments of 1,000. Bilt Rewards Blue members must transfer a minimum of 2,000 points, while Silver members and above can transfer a minimum of 1,000 points.

To transfer Bilt Points to travel partners, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your Bilt Rewards app on your phone or visit the website.
  2. Log in to your Bilt Rewards account.
  3. Navigate to the rewards tab.
  4. Select the option that says “Transfer” from the top menu.
  5. Choose your desired transfer partner and link your account to the Bilt Rewards app.
  6. Once the accounts are linked, choose the transfer partner again, enter the number of points to transfer, and click the button labeled “Transfer points.”

Bilt Rewards Travel Portal

The Bilt Rewards Travel Portal is powered by Expedia and allows you to book flights, hotels, rental cars, and activities using your points. Your points are worth 1.25 cents each in the portal.

Other Redemptions

There are several other ways you can use Bilt Points:

  • Rent payments
  • Down payment toward homeownership
  • Student loan payments (supported loan servicers include Nelnet, MOHELA, Sallie Mae, Aidvantage, and Navient)
  • Art, decor, and apparel in The Bilt Collection
  • Group fitness classes at Barry’s, Rumble Boxing Group Fitness, SoulCycle, Y7 Studio, and others
  • Shopping on Amazon
  • Lyft rides

Everything Else You Need To Know

What Are Bilt Points Worth?

We value Bilt Points at 2 cents each, which means 50,000 Bilt Points are worth $1,000 and 100,000 Bilt Points are worth $2,000.

In general, you get reduced value when using Bilt Points at The Bilt Collection, for group fitness classes, or rent, student loan payments, and down payments.

To get the most value, you typically want to transfer points to airline and hotel partners to book flights and hotel stays. While many of Bilt’s easiest redemptions provide the lowest value, it’s easy to understand how much value you’re redeeming points for: Divide the cost savings by how many points you’re using.

For example, redeeming 10,000 points to save $100 on a flight makes each point worth 1 cent. Avoid this redemption if you can. However, redeeming 10,000 points for a $250 flight makes your points worth 2.5 cents each. This is an above-average value and a good use of points.

Bilt Points Expiration

Bilt Points do not expire as long as your account is open and in good standing. They expire if your account is closed or shut down.

Comparing Bilt Rewards To Other Transferable Points

Getting outsize value from housing payments is possible whether you’re renting or paying a mortgage, but the math can feel complex. It’s worth understanding the tradeoffs for how much you need to spend on a Bilt credit card each month to unlock points on your rent or mortgage.

No other program is exactly like Bilt in this way, but what does Bilt look like when compared to other programs for earning and redeeming points? Here’s a comparison.

Bilt Rewards vs. Amex Membership Rewards

Bilt Rewards is often compared to the Amex Membership Rewards program.

In some ways, Amex Membership Rewards is superior to Bilt Rewards. There are additional American Express transfer partners like Aeromexico RewardsANA Mileage Club, Delta SkyMiles, and Singapore KrisFlyer.

On the other hand, Bilt Rewards has a few transfer partners that Amex doesn’t, such as United MileagePlus and World of Hyatt.

We value Amex Membership Rewards points at 2.2 cents each, which makes them around 20% more valuable than Bilt Points.

Despite the contrasting valuations, we recommend earning Bilt Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards to access as many transfer partners as possible.

Bilt Rewards vs. Chase Ultimate Rewards

Bilt Rewards shares many similarities with Chase Ultimate Rewards. Both offer points transfers to United MileagePlus and World of Hyatt as U.S. partner programs, as well as to a variety of other international programs, such as Air Canada Aeroplan, British Airways Club, and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

We value points in both of these programs at 2 cents each. Which to prioritize boils down to which set of transfer partners you find more useful.

Hot Tip:

Check out our transfer partner calculator to see the various partners you can send points to from the major rewards programs.

Bilt Rewards vs. Capital One Miles

Bilt Rewards is overall a much better transferable currency than Capital One Miles, thanks to its partnership with United MileagePlus (for domestic U.S. flights), as well as World of Hyatt for its points-efficient hotel prices.

Capital One is more advantageous for international airline transfers, such as Aeromexico Rewards and Singapore KrisFlyer.

We value Capital One miles at 1.8 cents each, while we value Bilt Points at 2 cents each, providing 10% more value on average.

Bilt Rewards vs. Citi ThankYou Rewards

The Citi ThankYou program’s biggest strength is its portfolio of international airline frequent flyer programs. However, it has 2 U.S.-based airline partners (American Airlines AAdvantage and JetBlue TrueBlue).

In contrast, Bilt Rewards has a partnership with United Airlines. You can also redeem points at World of Hyatt for fantastic deals.

An underrated feature of Citi ThankYou Points is the ability to transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to American Airlines AAdvantage with a premium Citi credit card. Additionally, Citi ThankYou Points can offer great value at hotels. It’s worth noting that Citi’s no-annual-fee credit cards offer reduced transfer rates, diminishing the value of these redemptions.

We value Bilt Points at 2 cents each, while Citi ThankYou Points are worth 1.6 cents apiece.

Take Advantage of Other Bilt Rewards Benefits

Bilt Status

Bilt Cardholders can earn points toward 4 tiers of Bilt status:

  • Blue: Less than 50,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year
  • Silver: At least 50,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $10,000 of eligible spend
  • Gold: At least 125,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $25,000 of eligible spend
  • Platinum: At least 200,000 eligible points earned in a calendar year or $50,000 of eligible spend

Benefits include a Bilt Collection gift (Platinum), a complimentary BLADE helicopter flight between New York City and JFK or Newark (EWR) airports (Platinum), bonus points for new leases or renewals at participating properties (Silver, Gold, Platinum), and a homeownership concierge (Gold, Platinum).

Members who reach Silver, Gold, or Platinum status can earn interest (in the form of points) based on the FDIC national savings rate. The interest is calculated based on the average daily points balance in your account across every 30-day period.

Additional Benefits

Bilt credit cards may also come with a variety of other benefits, such as:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption insurance with up to $5,000 in coverage per traveler
  • Trip delay reimbursement of up to $200 per day when your trip is delayed by more than 6 hours for covered reasons (up to $1,800 per trip)
  • No foreign transaction fees on purchases originating abroad (rates & fees)
  • Cellular telephone protection of up to $800 per claim (subject to a $25 deductible)
  • Purchase security of up to $10,000 per claim for purchases that are stolen or damaged within 90 days of the date of purchase

Final Thoughts

Overall, Bilt Rewards has become one of the biggest players in the transferable rewards space, and its growing list of transfer partners offers valuable redemptions for your points. That said, the program also offers convenient point redemptions for daily needs, and many of these provide less-than-ideal redemption values. In exchange, they provide convenience.

Currently, the best way to earn Bilt Points is through credit card spending on a Bilt credit card, and there are 3 options.

Make sure to capitalize on the double-bonus earnings on Rent Day (up to 1,000 bonus points and excluding rent) and daily activities.

When comparing Bilt Points to programs like Amex Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards, Bilt Rewards holds its own. With its growing ecosystem, Bilt Rewards has surpassed Citi ThankYou Points and Capital One Rewards in our points valuations.

However, those other programs generally offer easier ways to accumulate more points beyond just 3 credit card products. At the same time, Bilt allows you to rack up points on rent and mortgage payments without administrative fees, a unique and very rewarding feature for millions of consumers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bilt Rewards can be worth it. Even though earning options are limited, being able to make rent or mortgage payments without any transaction fees while earning points is a no-brainer. This is on top of the ability to earn bonus points on dining and travel, depending on which card you have.

What credit score do you need for a Bilt credit card?

In general, you can qualify for a Bilt credit card with a good credit score. Obviously, a higher credit score is better, but we’ve had reports of applicants in the mid-600s getting approved for a Bilt credit card.

Who is behind Bilt Rewards?

The founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards is Ankur Jain.

What is the Bilt Rewards program?

Bilt Rewards is a loyalty and rewards program offered to those who participate in Bilt’s ecosystem, including using a Bilt credit card, paying your rent or mortgage through Bilt’s platform, and other daily activities that earn points. You can earn Bilt Points using a Bilt credit card on travel, dining, rent payments, and everything in between.

Bilt Points are transferable to airlines and hotels to book travel. You can also use Bilt Points for group fitness classes, The Bilt Collection, rent payments, student loan payments, in the travel portal, or a down payment for a home.

Do Bilt Points expire?

Bilt Points do not expire as long as your account is open, active, and in good standing, but they expire if your account is closed or shut down.
