Chase Ultimate Rewards

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card also offers many benefits, including an annual $100 Chase Travel hotel credit, flexible redemption options, and fantastic travel insurance coverage, which includes best-in-class primary car rental insurance.

How Much Are 100,000 Chase Points Worth?

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are among the most valuable transferable currencies available. We value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents apiece, among the highest of any transferable points currency.

That means 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points could be worth around $2,000 when redeemed strategically. Of course, how you redeem these points ultimately determines what these points are worth.

Fortunately, there are numerous ways to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points, including using them for gift cards or statement credits, shopping with points, and booking travel through Chase Travel.

However, the absolute best way to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points is by transferring them to Chase partners. Fortunately, Chase has a long list of airline and hotel transfer partners that provide amazing value, including Air Canada AeroplanBritish Airways Club, Air France-KLM Flying BlueSingapore KrisFlyerVirgin Atlantic Flying Club, and United MileagePlus, among many others.

Transferring points to transfer partners is where you can start getting truly tremendous value from your points, turning a single welcome offer bonus into flights that would normally cost several thousand dollars in cash.

Hot Tip:

We’ve tracked the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s welcome offer history since 2009, and there’s never been a better time to apply. The limited-time 100,000-point bonus offer is the absolute best that new applicants can score when applying for this popular travel card.

1. Qatar Airways Business Class (70K Points)

Qatar Airways’ Qsuites are often described as among the best business class products in the world. They offers guest numerous features, including fully enclosed suites, sliding privacy doors, and flexible seating for couples or groups.

Although I have already flown Qsuites several times, I always look forward to flying them again. Fortunately, there are multiple ways to book Qatar Airways Qsuites, including with Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The airline’s own loyalty program, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, is a 1:1 transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Since Qatar Airways is part of the Oneworld alliance, you can also book Qsuites through British Airways Club, which is also a 1:1 transfer partner.

You can book a one-way business class award on Qatar Airways between Doha (DOH) and the U.S. for 70,000 Avios per person plus taxes and fees. Adding connecting flights would increase that rate.

Finding Qsuites award availability can be extremely challenging because of the high demand, though award search tools, such as Seats.aero, can help with that process. The tool has a dedicated Qatar Qsuites Finder feature that makes finding Qsuites award availability much easier.

Hot Tip:

You can transfer Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios to other programs that use the Avios currency at a 1:1 rate, including British Airways Club, Club Iberia PlusAer Lingus AerClub, and Finnair Plus.

2. All Nippon Airways Business Class (52.5K+ Points)

ANA’s The Room is another sought-after business class product — and my favorite airline to fly between the U.S. and Japan. The product features massive seats, sliding doors for privacy, and a modern design.

Although ANA is a member of Star Alliance, the airline also has a nonalliance partnership with Virgin Atlantic, a member of the SkyTeam alliance. This partnership allows you to redeem Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points for ANA flights.

Using Flying Club Points for premium cabin travel on ANA is a sweet spot in award travel and consistently ranks among the best ways to redeem Virgin Points. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has a zone-based award chart for ANA award redemptions, with some tremendous rates. (However, you won’t be able to book this award online.)

According to the award chart, one-way business class awards to Japan cost just 52,500 Flying Club points from the West Coast or 60,000 points from the Central and Eastern U.S. This means that with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s welcome bonus offer, you could fly nonstop between the U.S. and Japan rather easily.

3. EVA Air Business Class (85K Points)

EVA Air Royal Laurel business class is another fantastic product that can be booked with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s welcome bonus offer. The Taipei-based airline is best known for its terrific inflight catering and excellent service.

EVA Air is a member of Star Alliance, which means that there are numerous ways to book an award with the airline. My favorite way is through Air Canada Aeroplan. Though Aeroplan recently underwent a massive devaluation, the program still has a lot to offer.

Aeroplan uses a zone-based award chart, though only for certain partner airline redemptions. However, this is where the program’s true value lies.

For example, you can book a one-way EVA Air Royal Laurel business class award between Taipei (TPE) and Chicago (ORD) for 85,000 Aeroplan points.

4. Air France or KLM Business Class (60K Points)

Both Air France and KLM offer high-quality business class experiences across their long-haul networks with comfortable seating, excellent onboard dining, and consistently generous award availability.

These airlines share the Air France-KLM Flying Blue loyalty program, one of the most popular programs in award travel. The program has a simple approach to earning and redeeming miles, frequent transfer bonuses, solid award availability, excellent partners as a member of SkyTeam alliance, and competitive partner redemption pricing.

Though Flying Blue uses dynamic pricing for award redemptions — meaning award costs vary by route and demand — it also offers standardized saver award fares.

One-way business class awards between the U.S. and Europe can often be found from 60,000 miles plus taxes and fees. Additionally, award availability tends to be solid — which is a huge positive.

Best of all, Chase regularly offers transfer bonuses to Flying Club, which can significantly reduce the number of points you need to transfer for a redemption.

Hot Tip:

5. Singapore Airlines Business Class (60K Points)

Singapore Airlines is consistently praised for its outstanding service, excellent onboard cuisine, and premium travel experience. I have flown Singapore Airlines in business class 5 times so far.

Unfortunately, booking long-haul Singapore Airlines business class is somewhat difficult, as Singapore KrisFlyer severely limits partner availability.

One notable exception is Singapore Airlines’ fifth-freedom route operated by Singapore Airlines between New York (JFK) and Frankfurt (FRA). This specific route can be booked using 60,000 Aeroplan points one-way, plus taxes and fees.

6. Turkish Airlines Business Class (75K Points)

Lastly, we can also use the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s welcome offer bonus to book Turkish Airlines business class.

Turkish Airlines offers one of the world’s most extensive route networks, serving more countries than any other airline and providing excellent connectivity across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and is recognized as one of the world’s top airlines.

Its business class product is widely praised for its outstanding onboard dining — featuring chef-led catering on many long-haul flights — along with attentive service and a comfortable premium travel experience.

Like with other Star Alliance airlines, you have many ways to book Turkish Airlines business class, including Air Canada Aeroplan and United MileagePlus, both of which are Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners.

Aeroplan Turkish Airlines business class 75k points
You can book a one-way Turkish Airlines business class award between Atlanta and Istanbul for as few as 75,000 Aeroplan points. Image Credit: Aeroplan

Aeroplan still represents the best value. For example, you could fly nonstop from Atlanta (ATL) to Istanbul (IST) for just 75,000 Aeroplan points, plus taxes and fees.

Final Thoughts

The higher-than-usual 100,000-point welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card can unlock tremendous opportunities, including business class awards on many of the world’s best airlines. To do so, you need to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Chase’s airline transfer partners.
