One of the most popular premium credit cards is the Platinum Card® from American Express. It’s an absolute workhorse, offering airline credits, ride-share app credits, airport lounge access, travel statement credits, hotel elite status, and more.

But in recent years, Amex has expanded its flagship Amex Platinum card into a lifestyle card by offering statement credits at gyms, big-box retailers, and more.

One of those new statement credits is an up to $200 annual statement credit for the Oura Ring upon enrollment. If you aren’t familiar, Oura Ring monitors your body’s physiological signs. It offers insights into your health by tracking your sleep, activity, heart rate, body temperature, and more.

Here’s what you need to know about the Amex Platinum card’s new $200 Oura Ring credit.

How Does the Amex $200 Oura Ring Credit Work?

You must make the correct purchases to be eligible for the statement credit. To take advantage of the credit, you must purchase an Oura Ring at Ouraring.com — not at another retailer — and enroll for the benefit through Amex.

The easiest way to earn this statement credit is by buying an Oura Ring with your Amex Platinum card. Here’s how you can spend your credit.

Oura Ring Gen3

Oura Rings start at around $199 for the Gen3 model (which your statement credit would cover). The Gen3 model fully charges within 80 minutes and has up to 7 days of battery life. It provides accurate readings of over 20 biometrics that impact your overall health and comes in 2 designs.

Oura Ring 4

The newest model, Oura Ring 4, will cost at least $349. While the $200 statement credit won’t fully cover the purchase, it can make a sizable dent. This model comes in 6 colors, has up to 8 days of battery life, and uses technology that provides better accuracy.

Final Thoughts

While the Amex Platinum card has a massive annual fee, the issuer has recently enhanced it with hundreds of dollars in new travel and lifestyle credits.

While the Oura Ring statement credit may not appeal to everyone, it is still worth taking advantage of the benefit to at least be able to get a heavily-discounted product.
