If you hold elite status with one of the major U.S. airlines, you’re in luck — United MileagePlus is matching your status for a limited time, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of United Premier status and continue enjoying those benefits through 2023, assuming you meet the qualifications.

Level Up Status Match Challenge Details

In order to take advantage of United’s Level Up Status Match Challenge promotion, you’ll need elite status with a major airline in the U.S., and you’ll be matched as follows.

For the most part, United is taking your current status with another airline and raising it up 1 level in the United MileagePlus program, allowing you to experience more benefits. You’ll enjoy these benefits for a 120-day period, but then in order to keep them until January of 2023, you’ll need to fly a certain amount of flights:

For this challenge, only flights on United or United Express will count (not partners), so keep this in mind if you decide to enroll.

The Fine Print

There are a few details you should be aware of, as this offer isn’t available for everyone:

  • It appears this offer is targeted, so if you weren’t, you won’t be able to enroll. See if you’re eligible by entering your MileagePlus number on the promotion page.
  • You have until November 7, 2021, to register for the offer, and only the first 40,000 people to register will be able to take advantage of the status match opportunity, so you’ll want to enroll sooner rather than later.
  • You’ll need to be a member of MileagePlus to be able to take advantage of this, and your matched status should be updated within 3 days or so of you registering.

Hot Tip: If you weren’t targeted for this offer, check out our article on how to status match with United Airlines for details on how to request, receive, and qualify for a status match with United MileagePlus.

Final Thoughts

If you’re considering switching to United for most of your flying and were targeted for this offer, now is the time to take advantage of matching your competitor airline’s elite status to United. By matching your status, you won’t have to fly as much to work your way up the elite ranks, and you’re able to start enjoying your benefits sooner.
