Most JetBlue customers know there are a number of great ways to earn TrueBlue points, but did you know you can also earn them while shopping online?

With just a few extra clicks, you can earn bonus points by using the ShopTrue portal!

This article will walk you through exactly how to navigate the JetBlue ShopTrue Shopping portal to maximize your points.

How to Log in

In order to receive TrueBlue points for your purchases, customers must first log in to the ShopTrue shopping portal.

If you’re already a TrueBlue member, you don’t need to create a separate login – you simply use the account you already have. If you are not an existing TrueBlue member, you will need to create an account. It’s only a couple quick forms and free to sign up!

The Sign In and Join buttons are clearly displayed in the top right-hand corner of the page.

Basics of Using the Portal

Once you are logged in, you can browse retailers and special offers. There are tabs at the top of the ShopTrue page for easy navigation.

Clicking on a retailer will give the offer, a brief overview of the company, and purchase conditions. You can also use the Points Calculator to see how many TrueBlue points you could earn with a specific purchase amount.

If you want to shop with a specific retailer and receive your bonus miles, you must click the orange “Shop Now” button that will direct you to the retailer’s site. Then, just complete your purchase through the site. JetBlue will automatically track your purchase through cookies, so be sure they are enabled on your browser!

Your TrueBlue points should appear in your ShopTrue transaction history as “Pending” within 5 working days. JetBlue will confirm your transaction with the retailer within 60 days. When approved, the TrueBlue points will be credited to your account.

Something to note: if you make a purchase through a retailer without going through the ShopTrue portal, there is no way to retroactively apply your bonus points at this time. However, if you’re one of those people who can often be forgetful, read below to learn about “ShopTrue Notify.”

Special Shopping Offers

JetBlue has advertised special shopping sweepstakes in the past, but they are few and far between.

One previous promotion was: “Tis The Season To Shop Nonstop.” They notified customers that “you could win 65,000 bonus TrueBlue points this holiday season when you subscribe for ShopTrue newsletters.”

As you can see, this wasn’t a guaranteed bonus if customers reached a certain spending amount — just a sweepstake. However, ShopTrue does highlight everyday retailer Bonus Offers that you can easily find via the toolbar.

These bonuses generally involve a retailer issuing an increased number of TrueBlue points per dollar compared to what they typically offer. These special offers tend to run for a limited amount of time only, with the deadline listed when you click the retailer.

For example, at the time of this writing, Nike was highlighting a Bonus Offer to earn 2 points per $1 rather than their normal offer of 1 point per $1.

Additionally, the ShopTrue portal has a “Coupons” tab that presents current sales and deals for applicable retailers. Clicking the specific retailer will either show you a current coupon code or tell you this is a sale that does not require a code.

Example Retailers

You may have noticed a few of the participating retailers in the photos above.

Participating retailers and potential mileage bonuses in the ShopTrue portal can change regularly. While you may not see bonuses as high as other shopping portals, if you’re collecting TrueBlue points it’s still a great option! If you’re interested in what other shopping portals are offering, use a site like CashBack Monitor to check over 40 shopping portals quickly.

At the time of writing, these were some of the better-earning rates offered:

  • Kiehl’s: 3 points per $1
  • Fossil: 3 points per $1
  • Domain.com: 8 points per $1
  • Bloomberg Business Week: 6 points per $1
  • Proactiv: 4 points per $1
  • … and much more!

ShopTrue Notify is an extension for your browser that will automatically alert you anytime you are on a website that could earn you TrueBlue points. Plus, it’s free to download!

Using Credit Cards to Earn Extra Points

If you really want to boost your TrueBlue earnings, you’ll want to use a card that also earns TrueBlue points or can be transferred to JetBlue.

Barclays JetBlue Cards

Barclays provides 3 credit cards that earn TrueBlue points directly: 2 personal cards and 1 business card.

Hot Tip: Check out the most valuable benefits of the JetBlue Plus Card!

Chase Ultimate Rewards Credit Cards

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to JetBlue at a 1:1 ratio.

Recommended Chase Cards (Personal)

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card - This is our favorite beginners travel rewards card which has a 60,000 point bonus (highest ever) after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

This sign up bonus is worth $750 in travel purchases (flights, hotels, car rentals etc) when you redeem your points through Chase's travel portal, which works like Expedia. The bonus alone could get you multiple round-trip flights or hotel stays.
Chase Sapphire Reserve® - Consider this premium card if you want to get into a lot of airport lounges. The current sign up bonus is 50,000 points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. You'll also get a $300 travel credit per year which wipes away a big chunk of the $450 annual fee.
Chase Freedom Unlimited® - A simple, no annual fee card that earns you a $150 bonus after you spend $500 in your first 3 months. Easy earning at 1.5% on all purchases. Just know that you won't get any travel benefits or the ability to earn bonus points with this card.

Recommended Chase Cards (Business)

Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card - This is our #1 recommended business card and comes with a whopping 80,000 sign up bonus after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after account opening. This bonus is worth $1,000 when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards for travel purchases (flights, hotels etc). Also, if you pay for your cell phone bill with this card, you can get up to $600 in cell phone insurance coverage per year.
Ink Business Cash℠ Credit Card - earn $500 bonus cash back after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after account opening. In addition, get up to 5% cash back on a range of business expenses such as office supply stores, internet, cable, and phone services. This is one of the best no annual fee business cards.

Citi ThankYou Points Credit Cards

You can transfer Citi ThankYou Points to JetBlue at a 1:1 ratio.

You’ll need either the Citi Prestige® Card or the Citi ThankYou® Premier Card to transfer at that ratio. Citi ThankYou® Preferred card holders, which otherwise cannot transfer points to airline miles, can transfer to JetBlue at 1:0.8 ratio.

Recommend Citi Cards

Amex Membership Rewards Credit Cards

You can transfer Amex Membership Rewards to JetBlue at a rate of 1:0.8. Sometimes you can take advantage of promotional periods that bump up the transfer rate to 1:1.

Recommended Amex Cards (Personal)

The Platinum Card® from American Express - There's currently a welcome bonus of 60,000 points after spending $5,000 in your first 3 months. This is our favorite card for getting into 1,200+ airport lounges worldwide (including Priority Pass) and we get about $2,700+ in value from the card every year.

Plus, get up to $200 in Uber credits annually ($15 per month and a $20 bonus in December) — and up to $200 in annual credit for airline incidental charges (e.g. baggage fees). For rates and fees of the Platinum Card, click here.
American Express® Gold Card - We love using this card as it earns 4x points at restaurants worldwide and 4x points at US supermarkets (up to $25,000; then 1x). There's no better card in our opinion if you eat out and/or shop at supermarkets regularly.

With a welcome bonus of 35,000 points after you spend $4,000 in your first 3 months and a $100 airfare credit per year, for many this is an easy addition to your wallet. For rates and fees of the Gold Card, click here.

Recommended Amex Cards (Business)

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express - Right now, there's a HUGE welcome bonus of up to 100,000 points. Earn 50,000 points after you spend $10,000 and an extra 50,000 after you spend an additional $15,000, on purchases within the first 3 months.

We get ~$5,525+ in value per year by leveraging many of the benefits & perks.

This is the best business card for lounge access as you'll get into 1,200+ airport lounges worldwide. For rates and fees of the Business Platinum, click here.
American Express® Business Gold Card - probably our favorite Amex business card because we earn 4x points across the top 2 select categories that we spend the most money in each month. The 4x points applies to the first $150,000 in combined purchases from these 2 categories each calendar year. This means you'll max out at a (whopping) 600,000 points per year. After that, you earn 1x. For rates and fees of the Business Gold Card, click here.
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express - This is a simple card that earns you 2x points on any business purchase, up to $50,000 annually (then 1x). That makes for an easy 100,000 points per year! The card has no annual fee. For rates and fees of the Blue Business Plus, click here.

  1. If I book through the portal, can I use a chase card and still get the points? Or do I need to use a Jetblue card to gain the points?
