Chase Ultimate Rewards

To provide this value, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has a substantial $795 annual fee. However, it also offers numerous credits that help offset the fee. This includes a $300 annual travel credit, up to $500 stays credit with The Edit, a $300 dining credit, and a $300 DoorDash credit.

How Much Are 150K Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Worth?

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are among the most valuable transferable currencies available. We value Chase points at 2 cents apiece, only behind American Express Membership Rewards points.

This means 150,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points could be worth around $3,000 when redeemed strategically. This is a high amount of potential value from a single welcome offer.

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to airline partners to book business class seats.

Though there are many ways to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points, transferring them at a 1:1 rate to Chase’s extensive list of travel partners yields the most value. Chase has several excellent airline and hotel travel partners, including Air Canada AeroplanAir France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Club, and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Let’s review some of the best business class options to consider.

1. ANA The Room Business Class (52.5K Points)

All Nippon Airways’ (ANA’s) The Room is considered among the best business classes in the world and is a sweet spot redemption. The business class product is available on certain ANA Boeing 777-300ERs and features spacious seats, privacy doors, and a modern design.

Although ANA is a member of Star Alliance, it also has several non-alliance partnerships, including with Virgin Atlantic. Thanks to this unique partnership, you can book ANA business class through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

Virgin Atlantic has a dedicated award chart for ANA-operated flights with the following one-way business class award rates to Japan:

  • 37,500 points from Hawaii
  • 52,500 points from the West Coast
  • 60,000 points from the Central and Eastern U.S.

This means you could book a round-trip ANA business class award flight between the U.S. and Japan with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card’s welcome offer. This redemption consistently ranks among the best ways to use points and miles since cash prices for ANA business class often exceed $5,000.

Note that you cannot book ANA awards through Flying Club online. You must call Virgin Atlantic to book them.

2. Qatar Airways Qsuites (70K Points)

Qatar Airways’ Qsuites is another sought-after business class product, and it’s easy to see why. Qsuites are fully enclosed suites that arguably offer the most privacy of any business class seat. The product also offers flexible seating options for couples or groups, which few other airlines offer.

There are numerous ways to book Qatar Airways Qsuites. You can book through Qatar’s own loyalty program, Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Since Qatar Airways is part of the Oneworld alliance, you can also book Qsuites through British Airways Club. Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to both programs at a 1:1 ratio.

You can book a one-way Qatar Airways business class award between Doha (DOH) and the U.S. for 70,000 Avios per person plus taxes and fees. However, this rate applies only to nonstop awards; it’s higher for connecting flights.

However, award rates can be much better with frequent transfer bonuses to Avios programs. If you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points during a promotion, you can significantly reduce the Avios needed for a redemption.

With Qsuites becoming increasingly popular, finding award availability has become much more challenging. However, award search tools, such as Seats.aero, can make it much easier. Seats.aero has a Qatar Qsuites Finder that makes finding Qsuites award availability easier.

Hot Tip:

You can transfer Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios to other programs that use the Avios currency at a 1:1 rate, including British Airways Club, Club Iberia PlusAer Lingus AerClub, and Finnair Plus.

3. Singapore Airlines Business Class (60K Points)

My favorite airline, Singapore Airlines, is world-renowned for its extensive route network, onboard service, inflight dining, and overall premium cabin experience.

It can be difficult to book long-haul business class on Singapore Airlines due to award availability, especially on partner airlines. Although Singapore Airlines makes it a bit difficult to book its business class using partner airline programs, there are some notable exceptions.

One of these is the Singapore Airlines-operated fifth-freedom route between New York (JFK) and Frankfurt (FRA). It can be booked by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Star Alliance partner Air Canada Aeroplan. Aeroplan has a ton to offer its members, including a zone-based award chart (for certain partner airline redemptions) and a generous stopover policy.

The fifth-freedom route can be booked for just 60,000 Aeroplan points one-way, plus roughly $55 in taxes and fees, making it an excellent redemption on one of the world’s premier airlines.

Best of all, if you can find the award space, you can book this exact redemption in the other direction with the same Chase Sapphire Reserve card welcome offer.

4. Air France or KLM Business Class (60K Points)

Air France and KLM are two of the largest airlines in Europe and offer solid business class products across their extensive networks. The airlines share a loyalty program, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, which is a favorite for many award travelers.

Although the program uses dynamic pricing awards, it also offers saver-level fares on many routes, where the true value lies.

One-way business class flights between the U.S. and Europe can be booked for as few as 60,000 miles. While this is a competitive award rate, Flying Blue levies hefty fuel surcharges, which can exceed $300 one-way. Award availability tends to be solid, which more than makes up for the high fuel surcharges.

As with Avios programs, Chase regularly runs transfer bonuses to Flying Blue. Taking advantage of these transfer bonus promotions can unlock exceptionally low redemption rates for some incredible, outsized value.

Flying Blue also runs monthly Promo Rewardswhich offer discounted award pricing on select routes, allowing you to stretch points even further. I recently utilized a Promo Reward to fly to Europe and back in business class for just 70,000 Flying Blue miles.

5. Japan Airlines Business Class (77K Points)

Like fellow Japanese carrier ANA, Japan Airlines also offers a fantastic business class product with its excellent onboard dining and refined service. In fact, its new A350-1000 business class product is now one of my favorite premium cabin experiences in the sky.

As a Oneworld member, there are numerous ways to book Japan Airlines business class. One of the best is with Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partner British Airways Club.

With British Airways Club’s distance-based award pricing, you can book Japan Airlines business class between Japan and the West Coast for 77,250 Avios, plus taxes and fees.

Japan Airlines also has a non-alliance partnership with JetBlue, so you can redeem JetBlue TrueBlue miles for Japan Airlines awards. Award pricing is quite competitive.

6. EVA Air Royal Laurel Business Class (75K Points)

Like ANA and Singapore Airlines, EVA Air is a member of Star Alliance, though the airline does not get nearly as much recognition as its Asian competitors. The Taiwan-based airline offers a tremendous business class product, particularly its long-haul Royal Laurel business class.

You can book EVA Air business class through EVA Air’s loyalty program: Infinity MileageLands, though not with Chase Ultimate Rewards points (as the program isn’t a Chase transfer partner).

You can book EVA Air business class by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Star Alliance partners such as Air Canada and United. With Aeroplan’s combined zone- and distance-based award chart, you can book an EVA Air business class award for as few as 75,000 Aeroplan points, plus taxes and fees.

7. JetBlue Mint Business Class (83K Points)

Although it may not be as highly regarded as premium international airlines with extensive route networks, JetBlue offers lie-flat seats and elevated service on select Mint routes. The airline’s flagship JetBlue Mint product is widely considered one of the best business class offerings from a U.S.-based carrier.

The best way to book JetBlue Mint is through its own TrueBlue loyalty program, though point redemptions typically yield less value than with other programs. This is because TrueBlue award redemptions are generally tied to the ticket’s cash price.

For example, you can book a JetBlue Mint business class seat between Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK) for 83,000 points, plus taxes and fees.

LAX JFK B6 JetBlue Mint
You can redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points to book JetBlue Mint class. Image: JetBlue

This is a solid value, as round-trip JetBlue Mint business class seats between the East Coast and West Coast typically sell for over $2,000.

Final Thoughts

The elevated 150,000-point welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card can be transferred to airline partners for business class redemptions on many of the world’s best airlines for a fraction of the cash price. For those looking to score premium cabins and take advantage of the card’s perks and benefits, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers unmatched value.
