Cash back is earned in the form of ThankYou Points. This means each billing cycle, you will earn 1 ThankYou point per $1 spent on purchases and an additional ThankYou point for every $1 paid on your purchase balance as long as there is a corresponding balance in your Purchase Tracker.

Emirates Skywards is one of the few airline loyalty programs to provide both reward miles (Skywards Miles) and status miles (Tier Miles) for all fares.

Skywards Miles are based on the route, fare type, class, and tier — the Emirates Miles Calculator enables you to calculate the number of miles you’ll earn.

You can earn up to 175% bonus miles in first class and business class depending on the fare type. Miles are credited after you’ve completed your travel.

You can also earn bonus miles based on your tier:

  • 75% bonus miles for Platinum members

20. Emirates Skywards My Family and Skysurfers

Emirates Skywards My Family
Emirates Skywards My Family allows you to combine miles into a family account. Image Credit: Emirates

Emirates Skywards My Family allows you to pool miles that your family members earn from flying Emirates. This excludes partner flights and other ways to earn Emirates Skywards Miles.

Up to 7 additional travelers related to the designated family head may pool their miles with you: husband, wife, partner, father, mother, step-father, step-mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son, step-son, daughter, step-daughter, brother, sister, granddaughter, grandson, and domestic helper.

Each member can designate what percent of future earned miles will go to the pool: 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, or 0%. You can adjust this rate at any time for future mile earnings. Prior earned miles do not go to the pool (you can still pay for miles transfer).

Like individual miles, My Family miles expire 3 years after they are earned (the end of the month of the family head’s birthday).

Hot Tip: Emirates also offers the Skysurfers program that allows children ages 2 to 16 to get extra benefits while earning miles. They can spend their Skywards Miles on reward flights or choose books, toys, and more. Skysurfers can also earn Silver and Gold status.

21. Business Rewards

Enroll your business in Emirates Business Rewards and earn Business Rewards points when your employees travel. You can add an unlimited number of employees as well.

If they are Skywards frequent flyer program members, they will still earn miles on their flights as long as they link their frequent flyer number to the program.

At the same time, your organization will earn 1 Business Rewards Point per $1 whenever employees fly Emirates, no matter which class. Just give your Business Rewards membership number when booking a trip.

Final Thoughts

The more strategies you know for earning loyalty program miles, the easier it is to rack up the miles in your account. Now that we’ve shown you all the ways to earn Emirates Skywards Miles it’s time for you to get started. You’ll be using miles for rewards travel in no time.
