With both of our cards earning Membership Rewards points, the cards will have similar redemption options. However, there is an advantage with the Amex Business Platinum card.

Here are the options you’ll have on each card when using your Membership Rewards points at redemption time:

Both cards offer the option to redeem your points for 1 cent each for flights via AmexTravel.com and for other qualifying travel (via AmexTravel.com) for (usually) less value per point. Both cards also have the potential for even greater value thanks to the Amex transfer partners.

The real edge goes to the Amex Business Platinum card, which has the additional feature of a 35% flight bonus when points are redeemed for qualifying flights via AmexTravel.com.

Bottom Line:

While both of our cards offer several options for redeeming your Membership Rewards points, the best value is realized when redeeming points for flights via AmexTravel.com or transferring points to travel partners.
