Serving over 88 million passengers in 2019, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the second-busiest airport in the U.S.
With services to nearly 90 international destinations, it’s no wonder that LAX has 21 lounges within the terminals. These include domestic and international carriers (such as Delta and United) and major international carriers (like Qantas and Emirates).
Our post on the best cards that give complimentary lounge access details how to access U.S. and international lounges for free, with access to the specific LAX lounges detailed below.
Update: Some terminals and facilities are closed or operating under reduced hours due to COVID-19. Check directly with the airport or your airline for more information.

Connecting Between Terminals for Lounge Access
Lounges for most of the major international carriers are located in the International Terminal B. If you’re connecting from a domestic flight arriving into Terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8, then you will be able to remain within the secure area to connect to the International Terminal.
Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are not connected to the International Terminal, so you must walk or ride the shuttle bus to your next terminal. Alternatively, if you don’t need to collect any checked baggage, then you also have the option to ride the airside shuttle bus that connects the International Terminal to Terminals 2 and 3.
Terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are connected via airside walkways so passengers can freely move between these terminals to utilize available lounges.
Hot Tip: If you’re headed to LAX soon, our helpful guide offers how to get between terminals at Los Angeles International Airport.
Best Credit Cards To Access Priority Pass Lounges
There are many different credit card options that include a Priority Pass membership, and choosing which is best for you will largely come down to each card’s other perks.
Perhaps the absolute best credit card for airport lounge access, including Priority Pass, is the Amex Platinum card. In addition to Priority Pass lounges, the Amex Platinum card gets in you into Amex Centurion lounges, Plaza Premium lounges, Delta Sky Clubs (when flying Delta), and a handful of other lounge programs.
The benefits of the Amex Platinum card don’t stop there, the card earns 5x Membership Reward points on airfare purchased directly with the airline, gives you a $200 airline incidental credit, $200 Uber credit, and many more benefits.

Prefer a card that earns Chase Ultimate Reward points and is a bit more well-round when it comes to point-earning? Then the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card would be a perfect option. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers perks like 3x Ultimate Reward points per $1 on all travel and dining purchases, a $300 travel credit, 10x Ultimate Reward points per $1 on Lyft rides, and a Lyft Pink membership, along with many more perks.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve card does not offer access to nearly as many lounge program as the Amex Platinum card, but it still gets you into all Priority Pass lounges and even includes Priority Pass restaurants (including Rock & Brews and Point the Way Cafe at LAX), whereas the Amex Platinum card and Amex Business Platinum card do not.

Final Thoughts
Of the 21 lounges at LAX, only a handful allow passengers to purchase a day pass, with 1 of them (Alaska Lounge) admitting passengers traveling on any airline. Others require a same-day boarding card with a particular airline or at least flying with a contracted partner.
The choice is plentiful for first and business passengers flying on a Star Alliance flight, with lounge access potentially with the operating airline or at the dedicated Star Alliance lounge.
