We’re all likely familiar with Instacart, the app that helps you get groceries delivered to your door. While you’re usually on the hook for delivery fees, those who have an Instacart+ subscription can avoid those.

And now, with a new benefit for those who hold a business Mastercard, cardholders will be able to enjoy a complimentary Instacart+ trial membership and savings on their purchases. Let’s take a look at what’s going on.

New Instacart Benefit for Eligible Mastercard Holders

This new benefit only applies to those who hold a business Mastercard; personal cardholders can’t take advantage of this benefit. This includes cards such as:

Those who have an eligible card can now get 2 months free of Instacart+, which grants them $0 delivery fees on orders over $35, lower service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders.

Beyond this, members also get $20 back on their second order each month, which can add up to substantial savings.

This offer runs through September 30, 2025. You can enroll here.

However, there’s a catch after the 2-month trial expires: To keep getting the $20 off, you’ll need to keep Instacart+. The subscription costs either $9.99 per month or $99 per year.

Is It Worth It?

How often do you shop at Instacart? Are you already an Instacart+ member? Do you have an eligible business Mastercard?

If you have a business Mastercard and want to take advantage of 2 months of free Instacart+, plus $20 off on the second order you make each month, this is a good way to save $40.

It also can make sense if you’re already paying for an Instacart+ membership, since you’ll have already factored its costs into your budget. In this case, saving $20 each month is still worth it — or maybe saving more, once you factor in the delivery fees you’re cutting out.

But if you don’t tend to shop at Instacart, then keeping the membership beyond the 2-month window is probably not a great idea. Sure, you’ll technically be up $10 each month by getting the $20 back on your second order, but Instacart pricing is notoriously more expensive than orderly directly from the merchant, so you’re not really coming out ahead here.

Final Thoughts

This new benefit for those with an eligible business Mastercard allows you to get 2 free months of Instacart+. Beyond this, you’ll also get $20 off your second purchase each month, all the way through September 30, 2025. However, Instacart marks up the cost of your groceries, which could wipe out any savings you get with this new promotion. Make sure to do the math.
