The welcome offer often fluctuates between 80,000 and 175,000 Membership Rewards points, but it can be as high as 300,000 points. For 80,000 Membership Rewards points, which Upgraded Points values at 2.2 cents per point, the bonus is worth $1,760.

2. Earn 5x Points on Select AmexTravel.com Travel Purchases ($100)

The Amex Business Platinum card perk earns 5 Membership Rewards points per $1 spent on flights and prepaid hotels on AmexTravel.com. Hotel reservations that aren’t prepaid, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages, and most other travel purchases don’t earn 5x points.

We value this benefit at $100, but the value depends on your travel spending.

3. Earn 2x on Eligible Purchases and Purchases Over $5,000 ($50)

You can earn 2x points on eligible purchases in key business categories (including U.S. electronic goods retailers, U.S. software and cloud system providers, U.S. shipping services, and U.S. construction material and hardware suppliers), as well as on purchases of $5,000 or more everywhere else, on up to $2 million in purchases per calendar year.

Some other Amex cards earn more points on all purchases, such as The Blue Business^® Plus Credit Card from American Express, which earns 2x points on all purchases up to $50,000 per year (then 1x). A card that earns bonus points in specific categories or more points on all purchases will give you a better return on your business expenses, such as the American Express^® Business Gold Card.

Redeeming Valuable Membership Rewards Points

4. Get a 35% Rebate When Redeeming for Airfare with Pay With Points ($50)

All American Express cardholders can redeem Membership Rewards points at 1 cent per point toward paid flights through AmexTravel.com, which offers a lower value than when you redeem points through American Express’ various transfer partners. However, Amex Business Platinum cardholders get a 35% rebate when using points to book flights on their selected qualifying airline through AmexTravel.com, on up to 1 million points per year.

Booking a $1,000 flight from New York (JFK) to London (LHR) would cost 100,000 Membership Rewards points. However, you could get 35,000 Membership Rewards points back as a rebate.

We value this benefit at $50 because you can likely get a better value with a transfer partner. However, this benefit can be useful if you need to book a flight with no award space.

5. Complimentary Access to More Than 1,550 Airport Lounges Worldwide (Value Varies)

One of the most valuable Amex Business Platinum card perks is access to more than 1,550 airport lounges worldwide with the American Express Global Lounge Collection (Source: American Express).

The Centurion Lounge Network

The Centurion Lounge is American Express’ premium lounge offering available worldwide, with nicer meals, high-end local cocktails, and carefully designed seating areas. Local cues include a New York craft beer bar at the LaGuardia Centurion Lounge and barbecue at the Dallas Fort Worth Centurion Lounge.

Amex Business Platinum cardholders can bring up to 2 guests into the lounge with them per visit after spending $75,000 in a calendar year. Additional guests cost $50 per day for adults and $30 for children ages 2 to 17. As of July 8, 2026, cardmember guests must be traveling on the same flight as the cardmember to enter the lounge, and cardmembers may access the lounge during a layover up to five hours before their departing flight.

We value Centurion Lounge access at $250 for anyone who travels with moderate frequency. Many U.S. hubs already have Centurion Lounges, and more are being built worldwide. This perk is worth more if you have a Centurion Lounge at your home airport or at a destination you travel to and from frequently.

Delta Sky Club

Amex Business Platinum cardholders also get access to Delta Sky Clubs when traveling on a Delta Air Lines flight. With Delta Sky Club Access, Cardmembers receive 10 visits to the Delta Sky Club to be used from February 1 until January 31 of the following calendar year, and can unlock unlimited Delta Sky Club access by spending $75,000 in eligible purchases on their card in a calendar year.

All Delta Sky Clubs have complimentary food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and Wi-Fi. Some Sky Clubs offer rooftop access and premium beverages for sale.

We value Delta Sky Club access at $200 because you can only access it alone and when flying on a Delta ticket. However, you can get more than $200 in value if you fly Delta Air Lines frequently, especially when you consider that a Delta Sky Club subscription is well over $500 when purchased outright.

Escape Lounges – The Centurion Studio Partner and Escape Lounges

Escape Lounges are often found at midsize U.S. airports like John Glenn Columbus International (CMH), Oakland International (OAK), and Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX). There are also U.K. lounges, including at Manchester (MAN), London Stansted (STN), and East Midlands (EMA).

Amex Business Platinum cardholders can bring up to 2 guests into the Escape Lounge, making it a good alternative to Centurion Lounges and Delta Sky Clubs when traveling with a friend or family member. However, given the limited number of lounges, we value the Escape Lounge benefit at $50 per year.

Lufthansa Lounges

Amex Business Platinum cardholders can access some Lufthansa Lounge locations when flying on a Lufthansa group flight, including Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and SWISS. Cardholders flying business class can access the more premium Lufthansa Senator Lounges.

We value Lufthansa lounge access at a modest $50 per year.

Plaza Premium Lounges

Plaza Premium is a Hong Kong-based lounge network at airports across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. These lounges are known for having solid food and beverages, sleek interior design, and fast internet.

All Amex Business Platinum cardholders can access Plaza Premium Lounges and can bring 1 guest.

We value this benefit at $100. While there are a limited number of U.S. locations, frequent travelers can make good use of the Canadian, Hong Kong, and European lounges at least once a year.

Priority Pass Select

Priority Pass is the world’s largest lounge network. Priority Pass has over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide available to Amex Business Platinum cardholders upon enrollment, spanning every inhabited continent. There are Priority Pass lounges at major U.S. airports, such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) and New York City’s John F. Kennedy International (JFK), giving economy passengers and those without airline status access to a predeparture lounge.

The Amex Business Platinum card is easily one of the best cards with Priority Pass, although American Express Priority Pass members are no longer allowed access to Priority Pass restaurants or other airport experiences. Members can bring up to 2 guests.

We value the Priority Pass Select benefit at $250 for most travelers.

6. Save Money With Platinum Member Airfares (Varies)

Amex Business Platinum cardholders can access American Express’ Platinum Member Airfares, which offers Amex Business Platinum cardmembers discounted airfare on select international flights booked in premium economy, business, and first class through AmexTravel.com on several airlines, as well as select domestic economy bookings.

The discount you receive depends on the flight you book. For example, a ticket for Newark (EWR) to Toyko (NRT) via Detroit (DTW) on Delta could cost $4,371, or $3,578 with the Platinum Member Airfares discount, saving just over 18% by using this benefit.

For a premium economy ticket from New York (JFK) to Madrid (MAD), a nonstop option on Iberia might be priced at $857 through Platinum Member Airfares, down from $1,291 without the discount — a 44% discount.

It’s hard for us to assign a solid valuation to this benefit, given its variability. If you rarely book paid premium airfare, you would get significantly less value than someone who books it frequently.

7. Airline Incidental Fee Credit ($200 Value)

The Amex Business Platinum card, like the Amex Platinum card, includes an up-to-$200 airline incidental fee credit. The credit can cover baggage fees, seat assignment costs, and lounge passes for your chosen airline.

Activate the benefit, then charge your eligible purchase to your Amex Business Platinum card, and it will automatically be refunded to your account as a statement credit within 4 weeks.

We value this benefit at its face value of $200. While it isn’t as flexible as the Chase Sapphire Reserve^®‘s $300 travel credit, it’s useful for frequent travelers.

It’s divided into 2 credits, with up to $300 between January and June and up to $300 between July and December. Booking through The Hotel Collection requires a minimum 2-night stay, while bookings through Fine Hotels + Resorts can be for a single night..

We value this credit at its face value of $600 per year, as there are many hotels you can book through Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection.

10. American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts Access ($150 Value or More)

When you use your Amex Business Platinum card to book hotels through American Express’ Fine Hotels + Resorts program, you can receive elite-like benefits.

12. Global Entry Application and Renewal Fee Reimbursement ($120)

You can get a reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application and renewal fees with the Amex Business Platinum card every 4 years.

CLEAR+ is an expedited security program available at select U.S. airports and stadiums. Amex Business Platinum cardholders receive an annual statement credit for a CLEAR+ membership worth $219.

14. Annual Hilton Credit ($200)

You can earn up to $200 in statement credits annually (up to $50 per quarter) when you enroll in the $200 Hilton statement credit offer with your Amex Business Platinum card. Eligible purchases must be made directly at Hilton portfolio properties, and a Hilton for Business membership is required.

15. Dell Statement Credit ($1,150 Value)

Get up to $150 annually for U.S. purchases with Dell. Enrollment is required through your American Express account.

You can receive a second $1,000 credit after you spend $5,000 or more on the card in a calendar year on purchases with Dell, giving you a total of up to $1,150 in statement credits per year.

Once you activate the benefit on your card’s benefits page, you can shop on dell.com, pay with your Amex Business Platinum card, and receive a statement credit automatically.

16. Indeed Statement Credits ($360 Value)

Use your Amex Business Platinum card to purchase products and services related to hiring and recruiting and receive up to $360 per year in statement credits, up to $90 back each quarter. Enrollment is required to take advantage of this benefit.

17. Adobe Statement Credits ($250 Value)

After you enroll your Amex Business Platinum card and spend $600 or more on purchases directly with Adobe, you can receive $250 back annually as a statement credit. This can be helpful if you purchase Adobe subscriptions, such as Creative Cloud for teams or Acrobat Pro DC with e-sign for teams.

20. 4 Types of Shopping Protection (Value Varies)

In addition to travel and points benefits, the Amex Business Platinum card offers purchase and travel protection, covering purchases against damage and loss.

Here’s a look at all of the Amex Business Platinum card’s purchase protection benefits.

Purchase Protection

All purchases made with your Amex Business Platinum card are covered by purchase protection.

American Express offers reimbursement for the full purchase price if your item is accidentally damaged, stolen, or lost within 90 days of purchase. So if you buy an employee a $1,500 new laptop and they immediately spill a cup of coffee on it, American Express can reimburse you for the cost.

All claims must be filed within 30 days of the product’s loss or damage. There is a maximum of $10,000 in reimbursements per occurrence, and you can claim up to $50,000 in reimbursements per cardmember account per calendar year.

This coverage is secondary to any personal insurance policies that may apply to the items you purchased, and it reimburses the amount remaining between what’s covered by your primary insurance and the actual purchase price.

We value this benefit modestly at $100 because it’s not used often but can be worth up to $10,000 per use.

Return Protection

All purchases made with your Amex Business Platinum card are eligible for return protection within 90 days of purchase. If the merchant won’t accept your return within this 90-day window, American Express will reimburse you up to $300 per item and up to $1,000 per calendar year.

We value this benefit at $100 if used at least once, but it can be worth up to $1,000 if you make returns often.

Extended Warranty

All purchases made with your Amex Business Platinum card are eligible for a complimentary extended warranty. So long as the product purchased with your card has a standard warranty of 5 years or less, American Express adds an additional year to the product’s standard warranty.

The warranty covers up to $10,000 per item, with a maximum of $50,000 in claims annually.

We value the extended warranty benefit at $100 because it’s unlikely you’ll use it, but it can save you a lot of money when you do.

Cell Phone Protection

Amex Business Platinum cardholders get up to $1,600 in cell phone protection (2 claims per year, up to $800 per claim) against theft and damage, including cosmetic damage (like a cracked phone screen). Each claim has a $50 deductible, and your monthly phone bill must be paid with your Amex Business Platinum card for you to receive coverage.

Travel Protections

21. Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance

Rental cars booked with the Amex Business Platinum card receive secondary car rental loss and damage insurance. For coverage to apply, you must decline the collision damage waiver when you rent your car. There are location and vehicle-type exclusions.

Because this coverage is secondary, we value this benefit at $50. Consider getting a credit card with primary rental car insurance if you want primary coverage rather than secondary.

22. Checked and Carry-On Baggage Insurance

When you book a flight with your Amex Business Platinum card, your baggage is insured against loss. Coverage includes the cardmember, the cardmember’s spouse, and the cardmember’s children under 23 years old.

The coverage limits are:

• Up to $3,000 in reimbursements for your baggage while you are traveling to and from your carrier’s terminal
• Up to $3,000 in reimbursements for the cost of carry-on baggage

Cardholders who spend $250,000 on the card in a calendar year receive up to $2,400 in statement credits toward Amex One AP fees when using the Amex Business Platinum card.
