John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is the busiest airport in the United States for international traffic. It is built as a ring of separate terminals with no airside connection between them, so the terminal a traveler departs from shapes which lounges are reachable. This page lists every JFK lounge by terminal, with locations, opening hours, facilities, and how to get in.

Quick Overview: JFK Airport Lounges

JFK handled 62.6 million passengers in 2025, its second-busiest year on record, ranking it the sixth-busiest airport in the United States and the country’s leading international gateway (Source: Port Authority of New York and New Jersey). The airport has 28 operating lounges and experiences, plus the temporarily closed USO Lounge in Terminal 5.

There is no airside connection between JFK’s terminals, so reaching a lounge outside the departure terminal means exiting security and clearing it again.

Terminal 4 holds the credit card lounges, including the Centurion Lounge, the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways, the Capital One Lounge, and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, while terminals 1, 7, and 8 hold most of the airline and Priority Pass lounges. Access comes through 4 routes: a premium cabin or partner-ticket pairing, qualifying elite status, a lounge or credit card membership, or a paid day pass.

The New Terminal One and Terminal 6 each open their first gates later in 2026, which will change the Terminal 1 and Terminal 7 lineups (Source: Port Authority of New York and New Jersey).

Terminal 6 is being built on the site of the former Terminal 6 and will open its first 5 gates in 2026. Terminal 7 continues operating until the second phase of Terminal 6 construction begins (Source: Port Authority of New York and New Jersey).

Korean Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines are scheduled to move to the New Terminal One, and Aer Lingus, Air India, Cathay Pacific, and Lufthansa Group are scheduled to move to Terminal 6.

The Alaska Lounge in Terminal 7 has closed permanently; Alaska Airlines moved to Terminal 8 in October 2025, where its passengers use the Admirals Club.

Connecting Between Terminals for Lounge Access

JFK has no airside connection between terminals. The AirTrain, which is the main way to move between terminals, runs outside the secure area, so any terminal change requires exiting security and clearing it again. Travelers planning to visit a lounge in another terminal should allow extra time for a second screening.

Delta operates a shuttle bus between terminals 2 and 4 that stays inside the secure area.

Hot Tip:

Consult our guide to learn how to move between terminals at JFK.

Final Thoughts

JFK has around 30 lounges, concentrated in terminals 1, 4, and 8. Access comes by premium or partner ticket and status, a lounge or credit card membership, Priority Pass, or a paid day pass. Because there is no airside connection between terminals, the practical choice is a lounge in the departure terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does JFK have a lounge?

JFK has 28 operating lounges and experiences across terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8, plus the temporarily closed USO Lounge in Terminal 5. Several sell single-entry day passes, and 8 locations participate in Priority Pass, including the Air France Lounge and the Primeclass Lounge.

What lounges are in Terminal 1 at JFK?

Terminal 1 has 8 lounges: the Air France Lounge, a Be Relax Spa, the KAL Lounge, the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, the Primeclass Lounge, the Turkish Airlines Lounge, and the VIP One Lounge. It holds the largest concentration of Priority Pass locations at the airport. Korean Air and Turkish Airlines are scheduled to move to the New Terminal One, and Lufthansa Group is scheduled to move to Terminal 6.

What lounges are in Terminal 4 at JFK?

Terminal 4 has 11 lounges: the Air India Maharajah Lounge, the Capital One Lounge, the Centurion Lounge, the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways, the Delta One Lounge, 2 Delta Sky Clubs, the Emirates Lounge, the HelloSky Lounge, Minute Suites, and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. It holds all of JFK’s credit card lounges.

What lounges are in Terminal 5 at JFK?

Terminal 5 has the JetBlue BlueHouse and a Be Relax Spa. The USO Lounge is temporarily closed with no announced reopening date.

What lounges are in Terminal 8 at JFK?

Terminal 8 has the American Airlines Admirals Club in Concourse C, the Chelsea Lounge, the Greenwich Lounge, the Soho Lounge, and a Minute Suites location in Concourse C. A Provisions by Admirals Club is scheduled to open in 2026. Terminal 8 is closed to access between 11:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. because of redevelopment work.

Is there an Emirates Lounge at JFK?

There is an Emirates Lounge at JFK in Terminal 4, near gate A5. It is open daily from 6:40 to 10:40 a.m. and 6:20 to 11 p.m. Facilities include a self-serve buffet, Wi-Fi, prayer rooms, and showers.

Does American Express have a lounge at JFK?

The Centurion Lounge at JFK is in Terminal 4 on level 4, just beyond the TSA checkpoints, and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors have access to premium dining from the Culinary Collective, 2 bars and a speakeasy, showers, and a specialty coffee bar.

Is there a United lounge at JFK?

United Airlines does not operate a United Club at JFK and does not currently serve the airport, having flown its last JFK flights in 2022. United plans to return in 2027 with up to 7 daily round trips through its partnership with JetBlue. In the meantime, United Club members and Air Canada Maple Leaf Club Worldwide members can use the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge in Terminal 1 when traveling on a Star Alliance flight.
